I tried on about 6 different dresses at DB. It’s funny bc the final dress I tried on I felt was ‘the one’. But, I only did it for the experience as my step mom is making my dress for me. I was venue shopping and saw pictures of someone in a beautiful dress and asked my step mom to make the same one for me.
The dress I chose was the 3rd one I tried on out of 5. As soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one and I did not want to take it off. I kept going back to that one when I tried the last 2 dresses on.
Hi Janelle happy that YOU SAID YES TO YOUR DRESS! Now me I went through 5 but my second dress was it plus it was the 1 that I have been eyeing on websites and scrolling through bridal shops. So yes I really wanted to go to Kleinfeld in NYC. Because I am a big bug fan of the show, but I went to DAVID BRIDAL shop and my limit was 6 but my my second dress. I knew and so did my entourage but we tried on to see if it would beat my dress but did not lol. I cant show it because I FH be looking on here when I'm on it and he may see it lol
I always tried on a bunch of dresses for prom, homecoming, or other events, so I thought it would be a pretty high number. About 2 months after getting engaged I had a vacation planned to go see my parents, and it turned out this little boutique carried dresses by a designer I really liked, so my mom and I figured we'd go just to look since we still had a bunch of time and I wanted to have my MOH and FMIL with me when I got "serious" about dresses. Go figure, I tried on like 4-5 dresses and ended up finding The One™.
I worked in bridal for 3.5 years, and had worn a number of wedding gowns before- even around my fiancé when we worked bridal shows together! I tried on well over 100 dresses at four different stores in three different states (New Jersey, California, Louisiana) but wound up with the very first one I'd tried on after getting engaged.
I tried on 12-15. The one I got was dress number 4 or 5. Obviously I didn’t get ALL the feels right away, but it was in the top 3 from the first trip to try some on. We went to another shop then back to the first shop where I tried on more and my top choices again.
Mine was the first one I tried on the first store/day I tried on dresses. I tried on a total of 4. I had a pretty good idea of the style/look I wanted going in to my appointment and I just kinda knew once it was on.
Well I tried on about 12. I bought four and returned two and now have two for sale. Finally, I ended up with three for my dress changes. I would say take your time so that you don’t waste money and really come into the frame of mind of what you think will make you truly beautiful. I finally landed into the mental space that reminded me that I was not just buying a dress but investing in something that enhances my existing beauty and individuality.
I’ve taken a leap of faith and am buying from my favorite designer virtually. They don’t have their line available in the US. I have had three appointments so far, the latest for my measurements so they can start making the dress. The next one will be in October for the big reveal.
I tried on 5 dresses at David's Bridal to get an idea of what shape/style I liked, then went to a local boutique and tried on maybe 5-7 dresses before trying on the one. I knew pretty quickly that it was the one. I tried on a few more dresses that were similar style afterwards, but just kept thinking of my dress. Going for my final fitting today!
