How many cookies???

klimberkat, on December 29, 2015 at 10:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 42

I'm putting together our Girl Scout cookie order for the wedding and trying to estimate how many boxes...there will be cake, but you can't have a wedding at a Girl Scout camp without serving Girl Scout cookies! We're also doing s'mores around the after-party Bon fire, and I'm hoping people get creative and use the cookies for gourmet s'mores. We'll have signs with suggested combos.

An online calculator suggested 3 cookies per person if there are other desserts. Does that sound right, or should I toss in a few more for the s'mores?

Fun side question- what's your favorite GS cookie flavor?

I would add a couple to be safe; I know I would be stuffing some in my pockets for later!

The best cookie is the Tagalong. This is scientific fact and anyone who does not acknowledge this truth needs Jesus.

I'd do 4-5 cookies pp if you can budget that. BTW, very cool idea.

And obviously Thin Mints and Peanut Butter Patties are the best lol

Elizabeth... You with your "Peanut Butter Patties" lol where do you live? I knew tagalongs had a different name in other parts of the county, I just never met anyone who didn't call them tagalongs lol

Tagalongs!!! I also like Samoas. I like Thin Mints if they come from the freezer.

I say 5-6 per person.. Honestly, I would go for the cookies and smores over the cake.

    ETA: typo

Peanut butter patties (aka tagalongs) are also my favorite. I would estimate a little higher per person (4 or 5) since Girl Scout cookies are so good and addicting. This also allows for some extras for the bonfire.

Eta: I'm from outside Boston originally, but now live in Brooklyn. When I was a Girl Scout as a kid in the Boston area, they were called peanut butter patties.

Girl Scout cookies is such a great idea! They are very addicting, I can eat a half a box in one sitting! So to me 3 per person doesn't sound like a lot. But if you have lots of other options for desserts it might be ok.

Btw thin mints all the way!!

I feel so vindicated with all these Tagalong lovers. FH hates them and we had a huge fight over it one time lol

Samoas and thin mints. I can usually only eat 2-3 samoas before I'm over it, but I don't hate myself until at least a full sleeve of thin mints has been consumed. So. Yeah.

Ok, gonna add a few more boxes and increase the percentage of PB patties (also my fave). Thanks ladies! My troop is very excited for my giant order this year. We're also giving the bridal party and vendors each a box of Thanks a Lots. For those who have the other bakery in your area, they are super yummy shortbread type cookies with chocolate on one side, and they each say thank you in a different language.

    Mmmmmm....cookies!

Ahh! The Thanks-A-Lots are yummy! I only had them when I was student teaching in PA. The girls in my class now don't sell those.

No where near as yummy as tagalongs lol but definitely delicious.

I don't even want to think about how many I would have needed for 175 people! My brothers and other family (husband and stepson included) don't count cookies, they eat the entire roll!! Cool idea, make sure those thin mints are frozen! nom nom nom

Thin mints all the way!!! And any person on a good day can down a sleeve of those without even thinking. I told my FH about the 3 cookie per person and he chuckled...he said you better get more than that.
