I'm putting together our Girl Scout cookie order for the wedding and trying to estimate how many boxes...there will be cake, but you can't have a wedding at a Girl Scout camp without serving Girl Scout cookies! We're also doing s'mores around the after-party Bon fire, and I'm hoping people get creative and use the cookies for gourmet s'mores. We'll have signs with suggested combos.

An online calculator suggested 3 cookies per person if there are other desserts. Does that sound right, or should I toss in a few more for the s'mores?

Fun side question- what's your favorite GS cookie flavor?

Samoas and thin mints. I can eat a whole box of each in one sitting. Totally bragging here. Lol!

Thin mints! And Thanks-a-lots! And yes, tagalongs too! I also love the shortbread cookies, I crush them in a bowl and then add strawberries and fresh whipped cream.

    You all are all wrong.

    It's ONE SLEEVE per guest.

    pffftttttttttt amateurs.

edit- thin mints- and those ridiculous sickening peanut butter chocolate things.

We're having 130 people and right now I've got down 26 boxes for the reception that comes to a total of 527 cookies...I'm going to have to order a few extra since we'll be storing these in the chest freezer until Aug, and I know we'll be tempted to open a box early at some point.

    Thin Mints!!

Also, for those who don't know, the name differs depending on which baker the Council uses. The main two are ABC Bakers (Thin Mints, Caramel DeLites, Peanut Butter Patties, etc.) and Little Brownie Bakers (Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, etc.). My troops have used both in the past. I was in Scouts for years, and I'm now a troop leader.

ETA: Typically, Thin Mints are most popular, followed closely by Samoas, then Tagalongs. Trefoils are after that, then Dosidoes, then the newer brands.

If I had a choice between Girl Scout cookies or cake, the cookies would win out as long as they were Thin Mints. Thin mints are the best girl Scout cookie hands down. So you should order lots of those. People will be stashing them in pockets, bags, you name it. ( I would anyway, I have no shame when it comes to Thin Mints.) You probably should order a few boxes of the other ones too. They will look nice on the plates. lol

That's a great idea! My favorites are Samoas, but I never buy them since I just sit and eat the whole box when I do.

This thread really makes me want GS cookies! That spread looks awesome. Does the 26 boxes include the thank you boxes or is that in addition? Maybe go with an even 30?

I would add a few just to be safe, and we call them peanut butter patties in Kentucky!

I love caramel delights and thin mints. I'd bank on people eating more than 3 cookies. I can eat those bad boys by the box, but I also have no self control.

A minimum of 3 cookies per person is what a food serviced provider once told me.

I recommend extra thin mints because they rock.

The 26 is just for the reception, we'll be ordering another 17 for tips/thank you gifts.
