I have 6, I originally had 5 but I am so glad I added my 6th girl because she is the one that causes no stress. I think as long as you can handle all the personalities and potential power struggles I think you will be just fine.
My fiance and I each have four bridesmaids and groomsmen. Neither of us have a lot of close friends that we really deemed worthy enough to be in the bridal party, so my four bridesmaids are my two sisters and two close friends, and my fiance's groomsmen are his two best friends from college, his brother-in-law, and his nephew. His niece is also a junior bridesmaid, and my nephews are junior groomsmen.
I have 7 bridesmaids and I wanted even more. But now that we're all set with 7 and we only have 5 and a half months to go I am so glad we stopped at 7! Too many irons in the fire so to speak.
I have 3 and my fiance has 4 since his best man is also marrying us. I will say I know a friend who had like all of their friends so like 6/8 on each side and that is now one thing they said they would change if they could do it all over again.
I have 4. Two maids of honors and two bridesmaids. My first maid of honor is my friend best who introduced me to my fiance. The other maid of honor is my twin sister because, 1) shes my sister and best friend, and 2) she kept encouraging my fiance to keep asking me out. ( I need two to help with my control freakness!) As for my other bridesmaids, I could imagine getting married without them by my side. All 4 mean the world too me! So 4 is my number. ❤
