My fiancé and I are keeping it very small. I have 3 total. Two sisters and my very best friend, he has two best men and my sister’s husband who he is close with . Honestly I have been in several weddings with large parties and wasn’t interested in that for my own.
I didn't want to have a big bridal party, but ended up with 4 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen, and a ring bear. It weighed heavy on my mind that I had left out 2 of my cousins. I did ask a BM to step down from her duties, which left me with 3 bridesmaids. I wasn't planning to ask anyone to take her place but another friend said she would step in if I wanted; I couldn't say no. Then, I after having to move things due to covid, I decided life is too short and I can change what I want. So I asked my 2 cousins to be "bonus bridesmaids". In the meantime, my brother had a baby girl. So we now have 5 groomsmen, 6 bridesmaids, a ring bear, and flower girl.
I have a total of 4 people in my bridal party. I have 1 matron of honor, 1 maid of honor, and 2 bridesmaids!

I attended a wedding where both the groom and the bride did have 10! My bride is planning to have only 3 but only 1 bridesmaid + 1 bridesman,1 man of honor. I'm not sure why you're fiancée thinks 6 is too many. Seems like this is one of (if not THE) most popular number picked by brides and grooms.
I have 8! My FH has been my brothers' best friend basically their whole lives. He couldn't choose between them so had to use all 8 as groomsmen. I don't even have that many friends so I'm filling the spots with family. 😅
I have 5. 2 are my sisters, 1 is my FH sister (she’s also the MOH), and 2 are close friends. When we started planing the wedding we wanted just a MOH and Best Man and maybe 1 more bridesmaid/groomsman. But the wedding got postoponed and it will be a bigger event, we decided to include other people that are important to us as well
I couldnt decide between my two best friends, so I have two maid of honors and 3 bridesmaids. You can have as many as you want! I have seen people with like 8 in some weddings.
I’m only having 5. 3 of which are my sisters and one is my cousin and then a close childhood friend. I’m not having anymore since its going to be a small wedding.
I’m having one maid of honor & one matron of honor (or maybe just two “attendants”). I only wanted one, but my maid of honor announced she’ll be moving in the coming year & I really need someone who can help me out locally. But super happy with them both!
I have 2 so far.. I am doing something not so traditional, I am having my bridesmaids where evening palazzo pants and an evening blouse that goes with the colors of my wedding which are red and white, with a hint of Christmas..!
We have 3! Our max would have been 5. We are having a wedding about 100 people. It’s easier to schedule appointments with a smaller group, and I never wanted a huge bridal party. Just my sisters and best friend.
Initially our son was going to have 2 groomsmen and thus his fiancé 2 bridesmaids. Then he changed his mind and added a 3rd and she added another bridesmaid... however, it turns out that one of the groomsmen had to cancel because he is getting deployed, so now there will be 2 groomsmen (1 best man & 1 groomsman) and 3 bridesmaids (1 maid of honor, 2 bridesmaids).
I'm having 7. I couldn't get married without all my girl by my side. They are the women who helped me become the woman I am today, the one who's capable of giving and receiving our kind of timeless love. Tell him to get with the program! 😋
