How many boutonnieres do I need?

Private User, on March 4, 2015 at 8:41 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

One Groom

One Best Man

One Groomsmen

One Farther of the bride

One Farther of the groom (who will be doing the wedding pray during the ceremony)

Do I need to do one for the Minister? (I really don't want to)

My flowers are yellow roses with white Carnations...

I am thinking the groom gets a yellow rose and the rest get a white carnation.

How do you think that will work? Am I forgetting anything?

Sounds like you have the correct amount covered. I dont think one for the Minister is necessary.

That should cover it, unless you also want to give a bout to any living grandfathers (or similarly important people in your life, like godparents, if you have).

Typically the grooms would be a little fancier, then the two gm will have the same one and then two father's will be the same, but usually a little different that the others

You don't need to have one for the minister.

You can have FOB and FOG bouts different from the GM but you don't have to. My GM are going to have red roses and my FFIL is going to have white roses.

Sarah...there is no "right" way to do it. You can do things however you want....if you want the dads and GM with the same bouts then thats fine.

In our case, FH's bout matches my bouquet, the GM's match the BM's bouquets and the Dad's bouts are matched to the mom's corsages

Crap...didn't even think about the parents. lol....just too much little things to think of while trying to share MY MOMENT!!! LOL.

I'm going to have them all reflect the BM's bouquets but I want FH's to also reflect something about himself. He has a love of music and classic cars so I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate something with one of those.

@ Belinda- my FH loves classic cars too. Our whole wedding is centered around our classic! We did the table #'s as cars, the outside of the venue will have 6 classics outside and we picked our colors based off of our champagne car. Our bouquets will be similar in colors, (blush, ivory and champagne).

Talk to your florist and have them come up with something unique to you and your FH

OP- i think you have it covered. I am going, 4 GM's and 3 dads (mine, FFIL and my birth father)

Do you have a ring bearer? If he is over the age of maybe 2, I'd get him one. Ask about a magnet attachment instead of a pin though, so he won't play with it and stick himself.

Don't get one for the minister. Otherwise, sounds right!

The minister doesn't need one, I think. But are having a ring bearer? If so, he needs one.

We decided boutonnières for groom, 2 fathers and 1 grandfather, that's all. (We have no wedding party but my partner has been asking all the would-be-groomsmen to wear a bowtie for fun to match him.)
