How long will you be wearing you veil?

Melissa, on July 27, 2017 at 11:13 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 40

Just wondering how long you ladies are planning to wear your wedding veils for? Since I am only having an intimate ceremony with about 32 guests(only close family) I wanted to wear my veil during part of the reception as well(about 200 guests). I love my veil, it is beautiful and I did pay a good amount of money for it ($300+) so I definitely didn't want to just wear it for about an hour or so. My veil is fingertip length. ... how many of you ladies will be wearing your veil at your reception, and if so how long is it? Attach pictures. I would love to see all of your beautiful veils!

Perhaps take it off after the first dance if the dance is early in the reception. Definitely consider taking it off during the dinner so you're not sitting on it/ pulling at it with your seat. My mother-in-law to be is making mine (family tradition) so I'm planning on wearing mine for at least half of the reception.

I had a cathedral length veil that was $450 (gifted to me). I only wore it for the ceremony. I didn't wear it during first look because it was raining, and the photographer said it would get too dirty. Wasn't worn when we were announced at reception because it would have gotten in the way as we danced our way into the room.

I'll probably wear mine for pre-ceremony pictures and the ceremony. I'll take it off before post-ceremony pictures and leave it off for reception. Mine's fingertip length.

You can wear a fingertip veil all night if you'd like!

Mine is cathedral length. Will prob wear it for a few first look pics and then the ceremony, will take it off before we're introduced at the reception.

I have a cathedral+ length and it will only be worn for the ceremony and pictures. As soon as that is over it will be taken off. Then again, mine was custom and only cost $100.

My dress doesn't have a train so my veil is cathedral length, I'm only wearing mine during the ceremony and for pictures. I didn't want a train because they get dirty & in the way so I'll be taking my veil off for the reception, but since yours is fingertip length, you could totally wear it all night!

I took mine off right after pictures. It was driving me crazy plus I didn't want to get it dirty or have someone step on it. It's hard to dance with a long veil on and we did first dance before dinner.

I wouldn't wear it at the reception at all. If you want everyone else to see it, then MAYBE when they introduce you at the reception. If you wear it during the first dance or when your dancing it will probably get ripped off and mess your hair up.

I was planning on taking my veil off after the ceremony but I'm mostly getting one to appease my mom.

I took mine off after the first dance, it got annoying. Every time I was hugged it pulled on the veil and thus my hair!

I'm in love with mine. I'm planning on wearing it as long as possible. It's about elbow length. I'm assuming that means through the first dance. But we'll see. As soon as it gets to be annoying, it's off. Sounds like that will be pretty early in the day from what you all are sharing!

I'll take it off when I get tired of it. Probably at some point during the reception

Mine was a fingertip length veil that I got at a wedding expo for $30 because I COULD NOT stomach how expensive veils are. That aside, I wore mine during the first look, group pictures, and the ceremony. I took it off before I walked into the reception.

I am wearing mine for the ceremony and pictures, and then a flower comb my florist is making me for the reception. I only paid $60 for my veil on Etsy, so I don't feel like I'm not getting my money's worth out of it. Also, mine is chapel length and would definitely annoy me while I'm walking around and dancing. A fingertip length veil probably wouldn't bother me as much.
