How long til you got your engagement pictures back?

sarah, on August 18, 2011 at 5:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

We took our engagement pictures a little over a month ago. I had told my photographer when we were leaving that I would appreciate getting them sooner rather than later because I wanted to create our save the dates using a few of the pictures. He told me he'd shoot for that week. After two weeks I emailed him and asked when he thought they'd show up. He responded a few days later with sorry for the delay and he'd do it shortly. Now it's over four weeks later and still not pictures. I did email him again and have yet to hear from him. How long did it take for you all to get your pictures? This photographer was referred by two people I know who used him. I really liked his work and that's why I went with him, but I feel like he's kindy flaky. :/ Apparently I'm not alone because I saw a couple of reviews on a wedding site about him and others have the same type of comments.

I posted up something not to long ago about how long it was taking...

    8 weeks for me ;(

and 40 % of my pics have people in the back grnd..

when i asked if that can be photo shoped i was told there's another fee for that...

i was told those are the disadvantages of having pics taken in a public park

We went to a beautiful library close to our home with gardens and trees etc. He took A LOT of pictures so I'm not surprised it's taken a while, but I wish he'd be honest with me and not tell me he'd have them that week and then when they aren't here tell me it'll be "shortly". WTF?! Shortly to me is not another two weeks. lol

I received my photos in about 2 weeks tops. My photographer was going on vaca and wanted to get it to us before she left. I think 4 weeks is a bit much but maybe he is extremely considering it is wedding season but he should at least give you the heads up.

Yikes, it shouldn't be more than four weeks for engagement photos.

There's a San Diego photographer that provides digital sneak peeks and favorites within 2 days so you can post them on Facebook at least. I'm not really sure what the standard is, but I think it'd be nice if most photographers did this. Even if you have to wait four weeks, you have *something*.

If it's longer than two months that is just ridiculous. I hope you get your pictures soon.

We had a few teaser pics within the first week, and the rest of them by 3 weeks. But our photographer is my best friend from high school, so she usually gives us a little VIP treatment Smiley winking

4 weeks isn't incredibly long, but after having told you it would be one more week I think he was definitely in the wrong. Don't get too flustered yet...maybe he had some sort of emergency? If he doesn't act professionally from here on out, perhaps try to find another photographer for the wedding.

We put a sneak peek of four to six images up in one to two days, and have them all done no longer than two weeks. We have weddings done in four weeks. There is absolutely no excuse for you photographer to not have them in freakin' EIGHT weeks.

It was four weeks that we waited and right after I posted this he sent me a link to them online. They came out nice! Smiley smile I just wish he was a more on the ball.
