How long did it REALLY take to get your dress

I have to lose weight, and I'm waiting until March 2 to go do a big dress shopping. Before then, I'm going in Feb 16 for a trunk show hoping to find a dress I love. I have to lose weight, and I'm waiting until March 2 to go do a big dress shopping. Before then, I'm going in Feb 16 for a trunk show hoping to find a dress I love. But the salon I called was really kind of snippy about the whole thing. I get that stuff has to be ordered, but I can't go in for the next two weeks anyway (out of town--we're gonna hit up a store in Vegas where we're going this weekend) and I have to drop 25 lbs for the wedding. It would be silly to go now when nothing will fit and it will be the wrong size anyway.

so how long did your dress REALLY take to be ready?

This is the one at the trunk show I'm hoping they'll have (so hard to find v neck dresses. Everywhere its all strapless mermaid dresses)

I ordered my dress last Saturday and it is scheduled to arrive June 28th. So six months, plus time for any fitting appointments and alterations.

As far as losing weight goes, it took me 6 months to lose 25 lbs back in 2011. It was a true lifestyle change and I have kept the weight off ever since. I think with both the dress and the weight loss, don't underestimate how long it'll take.

Oh and I highly recommend MFP as a great free weightloss tool. Logging worked wonders for me!

I guess I'm a rarity. My dress isn't in yet. We ordered it back in July, and that's when we though mid-April for the wedding. Before the holidays we paid for rush shipping but still have no ETA. Anything is doable as long as your clear of your timeline up front, I think

I ordered from David's Bridal. I was told it would take at least 4 weeks, but like 8 days later it came in. I purchased in July, but my wedding is not until NEXT October. However, the dresses I like were on sale and I got THE DRESS for less than $300....how could I say NO to that. Smiley smile
