How long before the wedding should the bachelorette party be?

Mayra, on July 26, 2012 at 8:41 AM Posted in Planning 1 14

My friends keep asking me when do I want my bachelorette party to be. I was thinking about a week before the wedding but I don't know whats propper if there is anything. Also I'm having a bridalshower so what do you girls think...When did you have yours...?

No proper time, a week, a month. Depends on what the best time is for everyone. My friend moved to NC about 3 months before her wedding (we all live in PA) and we decided to do hers overnight for a weekend at a NJ beach, so we did it almost a month and a half before the wedding. I am gonna let my MOH plan it, so I will just give her times that I don't have anything planned...

I had mine just a couple of days before, but that's because most of our guests were OOT. H had his party 2 weeks before because that's what worked for all the guys' schedules. So it's really a scheduling issue more than anything. Just don't have it too close to the wedding so that you can recover :-)

Mine was back in June and I'm not getting married until the end of October. One of my best friends started her Residency in July and kind of has no control over her schedule anymore, so we did it super early because I wanted her there. For her wedding, we're doing it the week before her wedding (because of course she has no time off). It's all dependent on availability.

We aren't doing one, for either of us. it's kind of pointless when we've been together for almost 9 years...

Mine was two months before but that's what happens when you get married right after Christmas. And it was a destination bachelorette to Vegas.

Mine is next weekend so a little over 2 months prior to the wedding. I didn't want to do it too close to the wedding because I know I'm gonna have a lot to do. Plus we wanted to have a weekend at the pool and if we do it too close to the wedding, it might not be warm enough out for that.

FH's bach party is going to be the weekend before the wedding becuase his BM is coming in from out of town.

It's personal preference and whatever works best for you and your wedding party! I'm personally a fan of spreading out the events a little bit, so that you aren't putting a strain on anyone's time or finances!

I did mine in March, and the wedding was in May - so about 6 weeks before. I know the last few weeks before the wedding are CRAZYYY BUSY, so I wanted to get all the other stuff out of the way weeks before.
