How important are wedding shoes?

Ladies, how much thought/money did you put into your shoes? I thought this was such a minor detail, mostly because my dress is floor length and no one will see my shoes (I think). I was honestly going to use a pair of wedges that are comfy (but definitely don't match my dress). But my mom and BM are...

But my mom and BM are encouraging me to go high class since they think the shoes are an important detail that people will pay attention to. Thoughts??

If my feet hurt I am miserable so I am wearing comfortable shoes.

Found these today at Last Chance, an outlet for Nordstrom. 23 bucks. Surprisingly comfortable. Found sparkly flats too which I might change into later in the evening. Do what feels right for you.

My dress is long and no one will see my shoes so I'm wearing Talaria flats in champagne. I ended up buying 3 pairs for $75

I think shoes are important, in that you should wear something that isn't flip flops (if you're not getting married on the beach) but is comfortable. You might want to consider making them match either your dress color or the color theme of your wedding. Otherwise, take it and run in any direction. I got mine from eBay for $25 including shipping. It's about a 1.5" heel, which is all I can handle for long stretches of time. I'm expecting them to only show in our photographer's detail photos honestly.

Honestly, I found shoes to be the LEAST important part of the day! I wore them down the aisle, then as soon as outdoor photos were over I kicked them off and danced around the venue barefoot! My feet were filthy but I was more comfortable without them. Remember, your dress will be heavy on that day and overall you will be a bit restricted. I found keeping my feet comfortable made it easier to move around.

I searched and searched and search for the perfect (cheap!) shoes. I love shoes but my dress is floor length so I know no one will see them. I wanted something really cute but did not want to spend a fortune so I found a pair of silver shoes that are super cute but didn't cost a fortune.

I have theses heels for pictures but I have slippers for when it's done. The shoes were $40 dollars. I didn't go crazy as my dress is floor length as well.

I wanted cute and comfortable shoes. Those were my only criteria and I didn't put any thought into it beyond that. I have way too many other things on my plate to put too much importance on shoes.

My opinion on this is extremely biased, as I have a very unhealthy relationship with shoes, and buying them. I actually found my shoes before I found my dress. In fairness, I know exactly what kind of dress I'm looking for, so that's a non-issue.

That being said, wear what's most comfortable for you, and choose what will help you carry yourself gracefully.

Other posters are correct; if your dress is to the floor, it won't matter.

Thankfully, I'm getting married on the beach and don't need shoes, but for the reception, I got Kate Spade glitter Keds(I'm obessed)!! I don't think anyone cares but mine are cute, comfortable, and GLITTER!! Plus they will all probably be off by the end of the night anyway..

Not going to lie, I found this beautiful pair at Macy's for like 45$. But I found these sparkly killer ones at forever 21 this weekend, they are flat, and match the beading on my dress and are way dressier than flip flops, and they were 11$. Part of me is contemplating just wearing the new ones! The heels are so pretty, but so are my 11$ sandals from Forever 21.

You may want to find some cute ones. Your photographer will probably take some pics of them with other little details. I found my shoes ( Badgley Mischka) on Amazon for $100. DSW has some nice options online ( I never see any good ones in store). Shop around. You don't have to buy overly expensive ones, but I do think they should match, look good and be comfy!

As long as they go with your dress they don't have to be super nice or pricey - make sure they comfy!

To me not very important at all, I'm not great with heels and I plan on dancing all night so I'm wearing a very low heel, something comfy yet nice.

I just ordered some glitter Toms to wear! Comfy and a pop of sparkle! Comfy is my major thing. I'm half considering stilling cowboy boots though, but the Toms will probably win out Smiley smile

In all honesty, they don't matter at all when your dress is floor length. But that being said, my dress is floor length and I am spending what I consider a pretty penny for these gorgeous shoes that match my dress. It's a personal detail that I want for our wedding day
