How important are wedding shoes?

Ladies, how much thought/money did you put into your shoes? I thought this was such a minor detail, mostly because my dress is floor length and no one will see my shoes (I think). I was honestly going to use a pair of wedges that are comfy (but definitely don't match my dress). But my mom and BM are...

But my mom and BM are encouraging me to go high class since they think the shoes are an important detail that people will pay attention to. Thoughts??

I nearly wore a pair of red heels I already owned (our colours were red and silver) but ended up with a pair of ivory heels that cost me $20. No one saw them, they were actually pretty comfy and I could easily get them dyed to use again (haven't as yet but never say never!). I honestly wouldn't bother spending a fortune.

I splurged on shoes. The shoes aren't for others, so it doesn't matter that people won't see them. If they make you feel beautiful and confident, they're the right shoes and worth every penny.

I spent a little under $70 for both pairs of shoes I'll be wearing. I knew I wanted to

wear blue shoes long before I even started dating my fh. I bought blue suede heals from INC and blue Toms. Both on sale.

I'm wearing my cowgirl boots so call me crazy but 0 money spent here ETA: this has always been my plan so I may not be best to ask but thought I'd put my input so people know it's not horribly wrong to not purchase new shoes just for wedding

They weren't for me. $10 thrift shop ones. They retailed for over $100 though. My dress was floor length but you actually do see them more than you'd think.

Well people won't really see your shoes if its floor length. Unless you're doing a picture of your dress hanging and the shoes under. I'm wearing my camo cowboy boots under mine! Wear what you want to wear

I got mine for about $75 but then got them dyed for $25. Probably won't wear them again but they're super comfy and they'll match the bridesmaids dresses!

    Nicole, those are adorable.

There is no way in hell that I'd spend more than 100 bucks on a pair of shoes, (well, except for my cowboy boots....) and honestly, for the amount of time you're going to be in them (lots) ? Pick a pair you own and love and be comfortable. No one sees them.

But with a little glitter and modge-podge.....

I don't think they're very important. Make sure you're comfortable.

I've been going back and forth on this. My FH is 6'5 and I am 5'3 so needless to say, I need heels to not look silly in photos. You can find a beautiful shoe at DSW for $50 or less and if you want, just put a Dr. Sholls insert for comfort. People generally say that guests will see your shoes upon your arrival, getting out of the car, walking up stairs, etc. And photographers LOVE to take photo of shoes for some reason. I figured I'd get a second inexpensive pair of sparkly ballerina flats for afterwards or I'd love to get a custom pair of the Tom's wedding wedges.

I just bought a cheap pair of sparkly tennis shoes for fear they might get ruined since we'll be walking around outside on rocks and dirt. I won't be as upset if an $8 pair of shoes ends up ruined as I would be if it were $30+.

This is about personal preference. Im a shoe freak so Shoes were very important to me. I splurged and bought a pair of Louboutins. I actually had my mind set on one pair then went into Saks to buy them and fell in love with a different style. I'll wear them after the wedding for sure.

Maybe I'm one of the ones who does care about shoes. So I got these. Plus, my hunny would love seeing them while doing the garter toss. He took me to buy them the day I saw them online. Smiley winking

Most important aspect of your shoes: comfort.

I would make sure to purchase before any hemming is done. I bought a pair of navy blue heels (spent a decent amount, somewhere around 300) that I can use for other occasions. I definitely paid for comfort primarily. They are by a company that also allowed me to choose a charity to which a portion was donated. Later I'll be changing into lace Toms. I have a second dress that is tea length so I'll continue to wear them for a little bit after that before putting on my Toms. Make sure you really break them in before the wedding!

No one will see your shoes. When someone gets high end shoes for their wedding, it's for that standard wedding photo that the photographer takes of your shoes and ring. Get what your comfortable with!

I got a nice BHLDN pair that I plan on re gifting to my little sister when the wedding is over. I also plan on wearing them for the getting ready pics and ceremony and then switching to some jack Rogers low heel sandals I originally intended to wear.

I have ugly feet so I hate shoes. Also wedding shoes can get outrageous.
