How far out are you sending invites? How far out is your RSVP date?

I'm just curious... I have a ball park in mind for when to send my invites out and when I hope to have received my RSVPs back by but I've been wondering timeline wise what everyone else is doing... What factors impacted your decision... EX: I didn't send out Save the Dates and I'm getting married in...

I'm just curious... I have a ball park in mind for when to send my invites out and when I hope to have received my RSVPs back by but I've been wondering timeline wise what everyone else is doing...

What factors impacted your decision...

EX: I didn't send out Save the Dates and I'm getting married in a popular month, two other friends from college are getting married on that same day and my brother told me he's already received save the date cards for that day too so I'm thinking a little early)

So what's your T minus for invites in the mail? and RSVP date? And why...

I'm having a destination wedding (at a winery and resort) local to us but everyone else will be flying in. Most people are making a vacation out of it. We deviated from the normal 6-8 weeks taking into consideration the additional expenses combined with many people are still out of work, finding accommodations for their children, and giving notice to their jobs to take time off so here is our timeline:

    Wedding Date: 06/01

    Invitations Mailed: 02/15

RSVP: 05/01 (with a real RSVP date of 05/15)

It just depends on your situation. This has worked for us thus far.

    Wedding is 6/15/13

    RSVP is 5/25/13

Planning to send them out around 4/15/13

    (Didn't send STDs)

Our wedding is small (60 guests) & pretty much mostly family so basically everyone knows about it.

We may have to change the date from December 2013 to Spring/Summer 2014. If the date does not change:

    Wedding: 28 December 2013

    STD: 13 April 2013

    Invites: 3 August 2013 (mailed)

    RSVP Due: 1 October 2013

If the date changes, we'll cross that bridge when it happens.

    Wedding: 5/4/13

RSVP date: 4/4/13 (only gives us a few days to get the no-responders but they needed 3.5 weeks for the headcount)

    Invites: 2/21/13

STDs: July 2012 (for semi OOT wedding and to let people know to book in advance since they have a big event in the town all summer)

I'm kinda rude I guess! Lol. I'm only allowing 3-4 wks for RSVP! Sorry 8 wks later I can't help but to think u forgot or can't make it. So a simple decline will suffice for me. But the is coming from someone who invited more people than I originally wanted to because of social etiquette. That said, invites will go out between march 25-April 1 and rsvp due somewhere between April 25 and may 1. Probably in April honestly bc in may I don't any to be number crunching the stragglers...I need to be paying off vendors!

Don't remember when I sent them. but my RSVP date was 7 weeks before the wedding (cause it's still OK to send invites 6 weeks before the wedding) that gave my peeps a week past deadline to get them in so I could still send invites to some friends, that otherwise we didn't ahve room for cause of all the family. Then I set the B list RSVP's 3 weeks before the wedding as my final # had to be in 2 weeks before the wedding

My invitations were sent out 8/20/2012, RSVP date: 10/01/2012.

Two invitations came back to me because I had the incorrect address on them.

My STD's went out in November.

I would like RSVP's back at the end of April but havent set a date yet. Early part of May is insane for us with graduations so I want RSVP's back before then! I do not want to be chasing people down that week...Smiley tongue

Will be sending the invites out a month before the rsvp is due.

A lot of my family has PO boxes they only check once a week or so. Taking this into consideration I am giving a month and also for mailing time. We are having a private ceremony so everyone already knows and is fully aware of the wedding date.

If you are concerned about people not being able to make your date you could always shoot them an email or call just to let them know ahead of time.

My invites went out 12 weeks in advanced. and my rsvp's are due back 6 weeks in advanced. but i did that becouse 90% of my guests are oot. and i wanted them to have a heads up. and i hate finding out only 2 weeks before if some one is coming or not, becaouse so many people tend to miss rsvp date. so i still have some time if they do.
