How far in advance did you request the time off?

Just curious how far out did you notify your employers of the time off for your wedding/hm? A coworker looked at me like I was crazy the other day when she asked if I took it off yet and I said no. I have 7 1/2 months left. I work at a credit union and I got a promotion so I'm starting at a new...

I have 7 1/2 months left. I work at a credit union and I got a promotion so I'm starting at a new branch on the 14th, so I wanted to wait to talk to my new boss about it anyways. But we all use Workday (one single online "portal" for hr/time off, etc for the whole company). So any request I make can be seen by any boss if my situation changed in the future.

I did it right away and then two weeks before just to make sure.

I haven't really thought about it yet. FH and I are still trying to figure out what we're gonna do for a honeymoon so I'm still not sure how much time I'll need.

My direct team is made up of three people though and they know when my wedding is, so they're expecting it anyway. I do need to talk to my boss about working from home for a couple days the week before the wedding though.

Tell your boss right away. I'm getting married in 13 days but I put in my request last month before the 15th.

I told them like 6-7 months out officially. But they knew over a year out the date / that it was coming up. I waited a little to see what days I was comfortable with!

I am a teacher so we have the summers 'off' lol. But I have a part time job that I can request time off up to a year in advance for. So if I still have the part time job come the year of the wedding I will probably request the time in Feburary or March to be safe. I will most likely take the week of the wedding off and then depending on if we are doing our 2 week honeymoon or a shortened one, take that time as well.
