How far in advance did you request the time off?

Just curious how far out did you notify your employers of the time off for your wedding/hm? A coworker looked at me like I was crazy the other day when she asked if I took it off yet and I said no. I have 7 1/2 months left. I work at a credit union and I got a promotion so I'm starting at a new...

Just curious how far out did you notify your employers of the time off for your wedding/hm? A coworker looked at me like I was crazy the other day when she asked if I took it off yet and I said no. I have 7 1/2 months left. I work at a credit union and I got a promotion so I'm starting at a new branch on the 14th, so I wanted to wait to talk to my new boss about it anyways. But we all use Workday (one single online "portal" for hr/time off, etc for the whole company). So any request I make can be seen by any boss if my situation changed in the future.

I requested my time off as soon as I knew the dates and had my venues booked. I work at a bank so it was important for me to take off. Since I'm getting married in November, I had to put my time in so that no one else could request vacation during that time.

I'm switching jobs (starting Monday at the new place, actually) and while I'm not planning on taking off immediately, I am planning on letting them know the dates

I don't work anymore, but when I was I gave them 9 months notice. I also worked at a credit union. It's a popular time for vacations so they were thankful that they were notified so early.

I requested time off as soon as I knew when the wedding was and told my boss that it might change a bit but at least she has an idea

My boss is actually invited to my wedding haha but I officially asked off about a month in advance because of the line of work I am in.

I requested my wedding time off in January (10/14 wedding) and the time off for the honeymoon (late November) as soon as it was booked (later in January).

I originally chose my wedding day because it was the Saturday before an empty vacation week (we have to bid in November for the next full year), then changed my vacation to that week back in February. Then I put in requests for the 3 days prior and the 2 days after my vacation in March. It is REALLY hard to get multiple days in a row sometimes, so I had to do it as far in advance as I could.

I requested mine a year in advance because we're on a freeze Dec-April. Luckily, my wedding is an exception.

I told my boss in January, but she asked that I didn't fill out the official request form until it got closer because she was afraid she'd forget about it lol. I think I did the official request in June, so about 3 months out.

I haven't officially put in the request, but my boss has known about it since I was hired last August. No one covers me when I'm gone though, so getting time off has never been an issue.

I told my employer 9 months ahead of time because I've only been here for 2 months and I mentioned it when interviewing because it was not a negotiable thing for me.

A year out but I knew I'd need three weeks as my wedding was back in the U.S. and I was overseas. No way was I making any big payments without getting my leave approved in writing first.

As soon as I knew the date I marked it on the work calendar. (14 months out!) My department is super small (7 people) and only 2 of us can be out at one time.
