how far in advance did you buy your FG dresses??

Kiesha, on February 18, 2012 at 4:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

We are having 3 flower girls (no ring bearer) ages 5, 7 and 8! and i was just wondering how far in advance we should get their dresses. I dont want to buy them too early and have them out grow them, but at the same time, i dont want to wait till its too late and not have them in time!!! Any suggestions??

I would find out what date you need to order them by from the store you're purchasing them from, then go from there. My FG was 9 so I didnt want to buy hers too early, but DB said we had to order hers by January (April wedding), so thats when we went in and ordered it. Smiley xd

See for some reason even buying them that early worries me.... i've seen these grow a couple inches in 2 months...they're all really tall as it is for their ages!

The bridal shop I got my dress at said 3-4 months out... I am nervous about this too. I don't have a flower girl but my MOH is my FH daughter who will be 10 and is growing everyday! I have a style picked out that I want her to wear but we will see when the time comes.

I am getting married in May and ordered in November. However, the dress is made long and is supposed to be worn tea length. So I'm hoping any height increase will be easily handled.

I also have JBMs at 8, 10 and 11, and they ordered the same day. Just hoping everything fits!

I ordered early because a lot of shops close for the winter break near Christmas. The holidays are too crazy for all of us, and would've been impossible with 4 kids to get an order in. And then 3 months to get the dress - waiting to order until January wasn't an option.

Just roll with it! They'll be gorgeous!

Mine was ordered and came in a few weeks ago. My FG is three and growing like crazy! Sounds like it's working great. I sure hope she doesn't outgrow it.

I got mine 9 months out-- her mom and I guessed what size she would be and then ordered a size bigger... Her mom makes a lot of clothes and told me it would be easy to take in or add colored side panels if needed...

Four months. Got them today actually. $30 @ JCPenney out of their fabulous Easter Collection and they are perfect! Hopefully noone has a major growth spurt in the next few months.

Ordered her dress about 2 months before from David's bridal. It came in about 2 weeks even though their estimate was much later. FG is 10 yrs old. Cost is about 100...yikes!
