How early did you book your florist?

NoMore, on June 15, 2015 at 4:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 39

We are a little over a year out and with most of the bigger things taken care of, I am starting to think about the flowers. How early on did you book yours? Are prices seasonal based on availability due to weather in your area? What questions should I be asking? HELP!

About 6 months out I think! Prices are based on what's in season/size/amount.

I tried to book my florist about a year and four months out. I was told they only meet with people less than a year before the wedding because of pricing. I ended up having my first meeting this past weekend. Should be getting my proposal soon and probably sign a contract 10-11 months out.

It probably varies florist to florist though.

We booked our florist 10 months before our wedding date. We'll meet with her again a month prior to look at the mock-ups.

I booked mine about 8-9 months before the wedding I believe. I found them at the Bridal Extravaganza and received 20% for using them. It has been the best deal I have gotten so far.

My wedding is in less than a year (June 4, 2016). I have emailed and called over 50 florists and only one has actually responded and she told me that most people do book florists a year in advance which has stressed me out more because I was only casually looking.

Ours was booked about 8 months out, and glad I did. Start early, sometimes it takes them a LONG time to get back to you.

I booked mine at about 6 months out. The two I met with were starting to get booked up though. I would say 8-10 months out is a good amount.

I booked a year in advance. She is always very busy and I really wanted her.

I'd say as soon as you book your venue.

Florist was the first thing we booked, about 13 months out, mostly because they're also our planners.

I just booked my florist, and I'm glad I did it around this time, because she said she's already getting offers into 2016.

I am just over a year out and I am very, very close to booking. Just waiting on one more quote but I am pretty certain who I am going with.

My caterer also does event design and we ended up going with them. We booked the food portion about a year out and the design portion about 9/10 months out.

We just booked ours only 1.5 months out - but, I'm doing the corsages and boutonnieres and all of the arrangements, she's just getting me the flowers. I know what I want and that helps a lot!! Saving us a TON 0f $$$ too.
