How did you choose your date?

We chose our date because it is his grandmother's bday and he was very close to his grandmother before she passed

We just laid down and said a date lol

We eliminated the months of our previous marriages, and then talked about pros and cons of what was left. We decided on October cuz it’s not to hot or cold. Then just picked a weekend lol

We always take an annual river floating/camping trip. He has been taking that same trip for decades. We actually met on a river floating trip in 2020, but a different river than his camping weekend. Of course I started going on those weekends the following summer. While we were witnessing friends have drama and stress during their wedding planning, I commented, "when we get married, let's just do it at the river without drama." He said he was okay with that. In 2022, while on our river trip in early June, he proposed. We picked our date, June 8th 2022 because it is around the same time of year I'm able to go, and it is Best Friend's Day.

Everyone in my family is a teacher, so a summer wedding was a must, and since we got engaged in July it would either be a one year or a two year engagement and after 9 years with the guy I didn't want to wait any longer! We opted for the weekend closest to our engagement anniversary because we thought it made for a nice symmetry.

So my fiancé and I decided to elope in Las Vegas this fall. We’re staying for the week and we just chose the middle of the week to get married. Come to find out 9/4 is his parents anniversary.

The day he asked me to be his girlfriend and our anniversary from then on

13 is a big date in my family. My parents were married on a 13, as was my aunt and several other family members. I knew I wanted late Fall wedding and hopefully avoid in season price hikes so we looked at October 26 (13 times 2 because I’m the second generation). But some of my key selections for vendors weren’t available until the following weekend so we went with 11/2/24 - which is kind of great because 11 plus 2 is 13 so we still fit that in!

We chose March 15th. In Florida March is a good time of year not to hot or cold & we chose a Friday because its SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than a Saturday! No significance on the date prior to it being the wedding date.

August 1st was the day i asked her to be my girlfriend. I asked her out after she turned 18. We wanted our 3 year anniversary to be our date

I’ve heard from several vendors that it’s still hot in August, and October is when it starts to cool down. I initially wanted Oct 5th (ballpark ranges bc I don’t want to look through my calendar again) but another friend of ours is getting married that day and the guys are going to be in each others weddings. I then wanted the 12th but my photographer wasn’t free that day. Then my fiancé wanted to avoid the next weekend bc it was too close to the other wedding and so that lest us with the 26th.


In personally scared it might be a little too cold but I’ve been reassured by others who live in the area that I wouldn’t have any issues and it will still feel good at that time.
It’s different for everyone but I’m a nurse so if there’s a time not a lot of people want off— it’s best for me. No sense in competing for normal summer and winter months bc all of the people with kids want to vacation with their kids. It’ll also be great for when I do have kids so we can have an excuse to have some alone time since the kids would be at school 😜 I also considered vacation places in October. I definitely didn’t want winter because it would be snowing in a lot of places. This would still be fall or temperate times in tons of other places so it would be best for travel as well! A little close to November for my liking but at least it’s not November.

We chose April 12th because it’s 12 days before my fiancé birthday

For a destination wedding, we picked the day that our favorite venue had available. It’s mid-week but everyone’s vacationing in Santorini, so every day is great for a wedding day. (I also elected an Astro chart that supports a happy & fun wedding/marriage 🫠)

I chose mines for about 1 year from his proposal. I chose it to be on a Sunday for a couple reasons. One: Because it's less expensive to have your wedding on a Sunday vs Friday or Saturday. Two: Our Honeymoon begins on the following Monday.
