People seem shocked when i tell them we have at least 200 on the list and I don't think that's big at all. especially since 100 is just his family! lol. I would say 200 is normal.

Ours is going to be fairly large... Somewhere between 300-350. Kind of frustrating because FH wanted family only, but that alone would be around 150. Add on the fact that we're having the wedding in our hometown and we both played sports and have tons of teammates & coaches we're close to....ugh!! My sisters wedding this past summer had almost 500...NO THANKS!! Haha!

My sister had over 500 but it was it my parents house and we have lived in the same place our whole lives. I have a list of 400 so far. But we are doing a big wedding and cake and punch. Then headed to a very near by town for a close family and friends dinner (mostly family). I wanted the small party so this was the best way to do it. And it keeps cost way down Smiley smile

We also had 85 it was great for me. I kept it small so I could have a nicer wedding for my budget. The only way I kept it small was by booking a church that had a fire code capacity of 95 people.

I think it has to do with perspective as well. If at 100 people you've invited absolutely everyone you need to or want to, then that's a big wedding. Ours is about 100 and I guess it's small to many, since people are requesting invitations who were not invited to begin with. However, I wanted a wedding of about 30 people, so those extra 70 seem like a lot to me!

We're having a small wedding of 160 or so. We wanted to keep it smaller, but his family is huge and my family isn't small. As a reality check we started the guest list with our fantasy - then cut with a machette! We knocked it down 350 to 166. But I am already starting to receive request for invites and I haven't even sent save the dates yet!

We are shooting for about 150-175--I personally wanted to go a little smaller. But my FH is the driving force in the guest list numbers.

It also depends on where you live. We are having 200 and for our area this is a big number. The average is around 125-175, usually hovering at 150. The venues in this area are actually quite small so that is why this is typical around here. So depending on where you live 250 might be huge or it might be small.

Ours is small, 60 people. My first wedding we invited 200 and 170 showed, his first wedding they invited 400 and 347 showed up. Neither of us wanted to deal with that big of a wedding again. 60 was more than we planned, we originally wanted to cut off to be about 40...lol!

To me, 200 is big Smiley smile We are having a small wedding, only 75 people. I could not imagine having a 200-300 wedding because of the food costs. Plus there's no way I know 300 people! LOL

I would consider that big! I am having about 100 guests at my wedding and every time I tell someone that I always get a "OMG that's so many people!" reaction. However, you just don't see people having big weddings where I live. But my guest count doesn't seem that big to me since I am only inviting 10 family members (including parents) from my side. So if I had family I could easily see my guest list sky rocket to 130. I would start considering a wedding "big" at 145ish. I guess it depends on the weddings you've been to that form your opinions though, so someone is always going to differ with you at some point.

Mine is about 250. My venue accommodates 300. I have a big latin family and we include a lot of people in our wedding. I am spending 18,000 in my wedding. How I saved? I also live in North Georgia which is cheaper.

    - Venue alone was $4800 for all chairs and tables. (Chivalry chairs).

-Includes outdoor ceremony and 2 story indoor reception space.

-They allow me to bring my own food ( so my aunt is making it for me) Comes out to about $2000

-They allow me to bring my own alcohol with a licensed and insured bartender. I am having 4 different beers, margaritas and Jameson and coke. This comes to be for $1600- bartenders alone was about $600. Only about 90 of our guest drink.

    - My wedding dress was originally $2200, however the shop had a sale and I got it for $750.

-Decor, table lines, natural flower centerpieces and bouquets was about $2000.

-Cake is going to be about $400 for a 4 tier wedding cake.

-DJ with speakers, uplighting, cloud lights for first dance and sparklers for $1,000.

-Party favors $150 ( not really used in hispanic weddings much)

    -Photographer and videographer $2400

    -Pastor $100

    - What really is saving me a lot of money is that my venue allows me to have my own food and drinks. Other places was about $100 per person, which would have been about $20,000 for food and drink alone.
