How are you incorporating kids

Samantha, on September 28, 2020 at 8:24 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 32
How are you incorporating children into your ceremony? I’ll have two ring bearers, my nephews ages 1 and 1.5 and they’ll be escorted by my mom. Are you having flower girls or junior groomsmen or bridesmaids? Are they helping with the guestbook or doing readings or walking you down the aisle?

My husband's two nieces (ages 5 & 7) were flower girls. My husband's nephew (age 2) was our ring bearer and his other nephew (age 15) was supposed to pass out programs, but our venue made a mistake and put them on everyone's chair so instead he helped his brother walk down the aisle. He also escorted my mother-in-law into the reception since she is single and we wanted him to feel included.

We have 3 children between us and they are our wedding party. FH’s 17 year old twins (boy & girl) are Best man and MOH and my 9 year olds daughter is Jr. Bridesmaid. We are not having any other children in the wedding. We wanted it to be about all of us becoming a family.

I definitely understand. Kids can be unpredictable especially when they’re younger.

My niece will be the flower girl and our son will be our ring bearer, he will be carrying a sign that says "Daddy here comes Mommy". My stepson and nephew will also walk down with a sign that says "Here comes the brides". They are the only kids that we are allowing at our big wedding.

My 8 year-old son will be our best man. If I can convince him, he may walk me down the aisle. He likes being the center of attention, but only on his terms. There will only be 18 of us total so we'll see what I can do. Smiley winking We'll also being taking family vows as well.
