I’m trying to lose weight too. I’m actually doing weight watchers and calorie counting. Making sure to cook at home and try to only choose healthy snacks. My wedding is October 3rd and I want to lose 30-40 pounds before hand. If I lose just 1lb a week that’s 35 pounds before the wedding. Count exactly how many weeks you have and see how much you’d want to lose a week. Drunk a lot of water! I’m also starting apple cider vinegar pills as it’s helped one of my friends with their weight, stopped her cravings, so I’m giving that a try for a month, just started them today.

That's tricky because everyone's body is different! My mom and I started following a lifestyle called Trim Healthy Mama about 20 months ago. It focuses on healthy carbs/healthy fats and eliminates things like sugar and white flour and a lot of processed stuff. Just cutting out white flour/bread/pasta/white rice and sugar made a huge difference! I've lost about 30lbs but most of it didnt start coming off until closer to the year mark. My body had a lot of healing and adjusting to do after getting off sugar.

That means you need to be losing 1.5 to 2 lbs per week.

I always recommend WW (weight watchers) because they give you the structure needed to lose weight. Go to meetings too.

It's meant to be more of a long term thing than a quick fix, so it might not be the best option, but I've had great success with it! There are many THM support groups on Facebook you could check out for more information

I think the biggest thing here is not to stress over the scale and remember that you are getting the dress to fit you, not the other way around Smiley smile You look like you already have such an amazing shape!

A few easy-peasy tweaks that you can make are:

    - focus on getting enough sleep (rest/recovery deserves SO much more credit than we give it)

    - DRINK. MORE. WATER.

    - reduce stress wherever possible, and find better habits for dealing with stress if you find yourself falling into emotional eating

    - Keep a notebook/app and write down what you're eating...sometimes the idea that I'll have to write down that I ate 30 oreos is enough to make me back away from the package

    - throw out snacks that you know are unhealthy or you feel "out of control" when you eat

    Then, a little more effort:

    - find a workout plan that WORKS FOR YOU! Be realistic, don't say you can commit to the gym 2x a day, 6 days a week. Maybe this means at home workouts 3x per week or going on daily walks with the dog. Think about ways you can maximize your efforts aka intensity by incorporating circuit workouts or HIIT.

    - find a nutrition plan that WORKS FOR YOU! Be realistic, (sound familiar? lol) and please, please, please!!! don't just slash your calories to next to nothing...1. you'll be miserable, 2. it isn't sustainable, 3. your body will effectively go into "starvation mode" which means that it will hold onto every calorie you do eat because it doesn't know when it'll get food again. I suggest keeping up with your normal eating for another week but track everything. This will give you a baseline of where your current calorie intake is. Personally, I really prefer tracking macros (proteins, carbs, fats) than just calories - then making small adjustments weekly!

30-40 in 3 months? thats not very healthy, but somethings you can try are lowering carbs. NO SODA! No fast food. WATER WATER WATER AND MORE WATER.

try the egg diet. I've done it w/ intermittent fasting and some modifications and had great results. I would do like 2 hard boiled eggs for lunch w/ a slice of wheat toast or even a salad. Then for dinner i would do something healthy, but hearty like zoodles and sauteed shrimp, or ground turkey and brown rice w/ spinach and smoked sausage. and walk or workout when you can.

    Good Luck! You got this!

The biggest thing is diet. East high protein and high vegetable. Low carb. Low fruit. NO processed sugar.

    And regular exercise.

This. I lost about twenty five pounds in four months from low carb and no soda. I haven't had a soda since last July, which is probably helping my loss as well. Strict carb counting is a horrible nightmare but also super helpful for losing weight.

I agree. I dont drink sodas or sweet juices. Mostly water and coffee/tea. I try to sub wheat or wheat berry bread for white, my Achilles heel is pasta and rice so i am slowly switching things up to zoodles in place of pasta and for rice, i'll do brown rice.

Potatoes are my kryptonite. At least baked chips are still good and not nearly as bad for you, but I still find myself craving fries some days. Eat mostly wheat bread and I love my zoodles! Brown rice is awesome too.

I need to start, too 😖 my best advice: cut sugar and carbs.
Simple additions include: not eating at night, drink lots of water, and get in a little weight lifting (burns more than cardio.)

The way I took weight off relatively quickly is I cut out all sugars and carbs. For each meal, I divided my plate so 75% to 80% is veggies, and the other 20 to 25% is protein and a healthy fat (avocado, coconut oil, olive oil). I even cut fruit sugars for about ten days. I eat a little bit of those now but I'm pretty much eating the same. I tried my dress on in December and had to loose an inch to fit. Come mid-January I fit perfectly. I also workout on Mon, Wed, Fri. I drink 60 ounces of water a day. If I get hungry, I increase my veggies mostly and sometimes my protein.

Get the app MyFitnessPal and track your calories. Weight loss is based on cico (calories in versus calories out) . Stick to your daily calorie goal and you should see results. I track my daily calories and workout for a half hour around 4 days a week. I try to drink a lot of water but I have not cut out anything out! I eat carbs, drink soda, eat dessert, drink alcohol. Everything in moderation and as long as it fits in my daily calories it’s all good. I’m losing 1lb a week.

Look into intermittent fasting and sensible interval training workouts. I work as a trainer and have made numerous brides look great for their weddings

I’ve been doing weight waters since November 10th, and I’ve lost 25 pounds so far. I find it much easier to track points than calories. I do the online only version, it’s $20 a month and you track everything through the app. Even has a barcode scanner to easily find point values, and recipes and an online section “connect” that is like FB. Great support system. I’m loving it!

I lost about 20 lbs in a year on Weight Watchers. I wasn't as strict as I could've been, so I'll bet you could reach your goal by utilizing Weight Watchers. I love it and have been a member for 3 years and have lost about 40 lbs total in that time
