Wedding date twins! I haven't even gotten started on color scheme!

Have you booked a venue yet? I'd say venue is priority #1. Discuss with your partner the following questions:

-How many people do we want to invite?

    -What is our budget?

-What general "vibe" are we going for?

From there, you can book other vendors such as photographer, music. officiant etc. but I would definitely start with venue if you haven't already! I'm also no expert though!

Definitely start with your venue. When I went looking for a venue at the end of last year, for the end of this year, I had people tell me that they were fully booked more than a year in advance! With Covid having pushed weddings for the last two years, venues are hard to come by! But I agree with Katherine, pick a rough guest list number and a budget and then find your venue. Everything else will start falling into place from there. Some venues even have lists of vendors they work with and prefer (photographers, florists etc) and if you're at a loss, they are a great resource! I ended up going with a dj and photographer from my venue's list - I love their work and the bonus is they know the space!

Suggestion - If you pick a number for guests, don't pick a venue where that number is their max. Your wedding is over a year out, and you may think of people you want to invite as the time moves on and if your venue is maxed out, you'll have to find a new place or cut people (neither of which are fun!). Give yourself some leeway. Look for a place that has a food and beverage money minimum, vs people minimum/maximum. You can always up your bar package and add more food, much harder to add space that doesn't exist.

Color scheme wise I only have one suggestion that my mother, who is a florist, has suggestion to every one she has ever known who was getting married (and every bride who ever came into her shop which was loads!) - think about the flowers that are in season for when you're getting married and try and pick your colors with that in mind. In other words, if you're having a fall wedding, don't pick pastels, if you're having a spring wedding, don't pick deep fall jewel tones. It'll save you literally thousands in flower costs if you can use seasonal and not have to get them imported. You're getting married in June, so you'll have tons of flowers to choose from. Check out this article all about what flowers are in bloom in June: https://www.bridalguide.com/planning/the-details/decor-flowers/flowers-in-season-june#134835

The most important thing to remember? Have fun! Don't let anyone tell you you can't do something you want to do just because it's not "traditional". And don't go into debt. At the end of the day, its the marriage that matters, not the party Smiley winking

Awh congrats Wedding Date Twinsie!! ❤️ I’m having a hard time on the venue choices of if I should just make it easy on everyone involved and have it here in my backyard 😞 Everyone has this idea of how my wedding should be and I’m just like ugh lol from what he said so far he doesn’t see a wedding needing to be over $5000 so that takes out a lot of the usual wedding things. Like a photographer, rehearsal dinner, and more. But I guess as long as he is happy that’s all that matters to me. I’m a Virgo and was thinkin of having my Matron of Honours wear sapphire and the bridesmaids were a lighter shade of blue, but idk yet lol the wedding dress that I want is like $2grand or so. But I’m just gonna settle for a $100/200 in online and hope it fits properly lol for the theme I was thinkin of goin with a summer romantic but I guess we will see lol

I tried lookin I to venues. However they are costly and the one that is somewhat affordable will more than likely run over budget but idk. I will def look into the colour scheme with the flowers that are available for June. That’s some really great advice for sure!! Thankyou 💜
