I would pick stuffed shrooms, shrimp cocktail, meatballs, veggie tray.. I also don't think there is anything wrong with your venue!

I am doing cocktail reception also. My caterer actually has an horse-derves (seriously, this is the hardest word to spell, I give up!!) menu choice. It's $10/person.

If I had your menu to choose from, I would put together a menu that's about $10/person.

Audra I also remembered your other post about the timeframe and I think you're TOTALLY fine.

I also think that venue actually has really good bones and a lot of potential. The exposed beams like Shellie said, the fireplace/mantle, and the chandeliers in the hallway? Totally cute. I think you could do a lot with that very inexpensively and make it look like a million bucks. Chair covers and candlelight everywhere would make a very big and very romantic impact. Totally doable.

I think your venue is nice and was a great deal for that price.As others have said there is a lot of simple/inexpensive things you can do with the space to make it even nicer.As for the app options I like Shrimp Cocktail ,Stuffed Potato Skins ,Stuffed Mushrooms and chocolate dipped strawberries.

The location is really nice and your wedding will be beautiful.I think we get too caught up in a vision and also some of these wedding shows don't help nor the magazines because they vemp and amp things up, I look at them for ideas that I can downsize and for entertainment.The wedding the celebration of your love and joining your lives together of course you want it nice but there is nothing wrong with you location, I wish my town has something this nice for that price.I am struggling because we have a very tight budget and the places around here are crazy with there prices.Don't stress and no worries your day will be beautiful.BEST WISHES!

I love the fireplace at your venue. You could do so much with it and be cost effective. I seriously don't understand the sports bar comment. Jeez.
