Having To Wait For Honeymoon Trip

My FH and I have decided to go to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We're getting married August next year but unfortunately, St. Lucia has pretty bad weather during that time so we looked into when it would be considered perfect to go. We've decided that we will go in February 2021. That's a whole 6 MONTHS!! It's been booked and I'm sure it'll be worth the wait!

FH was kind of down about not going anywhere or doing anything after the wedding. He really loves the idea so I started doing some research to look into doing something small. Well, that didn't take long because I came across Disneyland! We will have a little 2 day minimoon/celebration (whatever you want to call it) to attend each park. I'm hoping to book that by the end of the month!

Is anyone else having to wait to go on their honeymoon due to weather, finances, etc? Is there anything else you will be doing/anywhere else you will be going until you go on your honeymoon trip?

That sounds pretty relaxing actually. I might talk to FH about doing that as well.

My fiancé and I are getting married October of 2020 and then doing our honeymoon (a cruise) June of 2021. We decided to wait because we need time to save up. However, we have been investigating doing a minimoon as well because my fiancé is bummed we won’t be doing anything after the wedding. I told him if he thought he couldn’t wait we could do that, but if he wanted to wait we could take a three week vacation for our honeymoon, go to the port town and explore the area before leaving for our cruise and then take some time after to explore a bit more if we would like. He seemed to calm down a bit after this suggestion.

My FH & I are getting married in September 2019 & we are not honeymooning until February 2020. According to our travel agent October-December is a bad hurricane season for Cancun (where we are going)

No, just when the winter semester ends. We could go for a honeymoon in December when the fall semester ends but I rather wait till may.

That sounds perfect. I started researching as well because my fiance really wanted to do something right after as well. We'll be spending a couple days at Disneyland. I'm actually quite excited about it now too. Where will you be taking a cruise to??

That makes sense. You dont want to spend an important time together in bad weather. We were advised the same thing for St. Lucia. We're August 2020 but our honeymoon will be February 2021. It'll totally be worth the wait, I'm sure.

We are cruising through the eastern Caribbean. My fiancé’s never been on a cruise before so he’s nervous.

I found the perfect mini honeymoon but everything was booked 😞

We'll probably go on a cruise or do something else but most likely wait until our 1 yr anniversary due to finances. We still want to do something special for a couple days but we haven't found anything yet

We are waiting as well. FH wanted to go to Venice, Italy and I wanted to go to Topeka, Kansas! 😂😂😂😂 Needless to say, he was disappointed with my vision. But he had already bought round way tickets and we can use them whenever (He planned to surprise me) so the compromise was to postpone the trip until next year because I don't like traveling far and am afraid of flying too. Lol, he should be with someone more adventurous.

Awe! That's going to be so much fun. I went on my first cruise last year December which also happened to be the same cruise my fiance proposed to me on so it was memorable for more than one reason.

Oh no! What were you trying to do that was already booked?? I've definitely heard of people going on their honeymoon on their 1 year anniversary. Having the time to save up is wonderful because you can do all that you want when the time comes.

Lol! Adventure isn't for everyone but if and when you decide to go Italy, just know he has your back. Have you flown before or was there something that happened that made you afraid of flying??

We were planning on doing our own mini-moon since our wedding is DW and we get married on a Sunday and don't leave till Wednesday. We are getting married in TN and live in FL so figured on our way back to FL on Wednesday we could make stops and visit new towns and have that be our mini moon. We were actually gifted our "honeymoon" now from my in-laws his parents for a three night beach bungalow cottage in st. Augustine. We still plan on doing our real trip (Jamaica in April) when we get vacation days again.

We're waiting to go on our honeymoon at a later date, too, due to weather, planning time needed, etc. We're planning to visit Taiwan and Japan! My mother's side is Taiwanese and my family there will be able to meet FH and he'll see where I lived for a few years as well. We're looking forward to our trip and plan to go next spring (we get married next month)!!

That's so awesome! A new town and new scenery is always a nice little chance to explore more. We were gifted our honeymoon by mom which I definitely wasnt expecting! Until we can actually go, Disneyland will be a great stand in.
