Having To Wait For Honeymoon Trip

My FH and I have decided to go to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We're getting married August next year but unfortunately, St. Lucia has pretty bad weather during that time so we looked into when it would be considered perfect to go. We've decided that we will go in February 2021. That's a whole 6 MONTHS!! It's been booked and I'm sure it'll be worth the wait!

FH was kind of down about not going anywhere or doing anything after the wedding. He really loves the idea so I started doing some research to look into doing something small. Well, that didn't take long because I came across Disneyland! We will have a little 2 day minimoon/celebration (whatever you want to call it) to attend each park. I'm hoping to book that by the end of the month!

Is anyone else having to wait to go on their honeymoon due to weather, finances, etc? Is there anything else you will be doing/anywhere else you will be going until you go on your honeymoon trip?

That's super exciting. We will actually be going to my family reunion in Belize (my mom's side of the family is Belizean) not too long after our honeymoon in 2021 so my FH will meet even MORE of my family with hard accents so that should be fun lol. I was born and raised in California though so I'll be learning about some things and places with him.

Then go to Thailand or somewhere else in Asia if you're going to Belize later. Let me know if you need help planning an Asia trip. I lived in Taiwan for three years and visited China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam!

I've been to all except Vietnam. As far as an Asia trip, we would probably ro do that for an anniversary. I've definitely talked about going back to Japan!

Our wedding will be in nc at a place we spent all of our times as kids. We are talking of going to Atlantic City the day after our wedding with the kids. Have the wedding night to ourselves and then family vacay. 🙃

It was at the Pocono Palace Resorts. They have a 7 ft tall champagne glass hot tub that's right in your room, along with your own swimming pool and all kinds of other fun stuff to do. It's a kid free resort and they have couples massages and even a photographer who would do some pictures for you. It was the perfect place for us.
I am excited to have more time to save up for our honeymoon. We'll definitely be able to do more Smiley smile

We're doing something similar! Though we haven't officially booked anything yet, we're planning on going to Alaska sometime in 2021.

This'll let us somewhat financially recover from the wedding, and pick the best time to see that part of the world for the activities that we'd like to do.

I'm planning on taking the week after the wedding off just to decompress and relax. We might do a small weekend getaway later in the fall, and I think that'll be more than enough. Smiley shame

That's an excellent idea! I've always wanted to go to Alaska. FH and I have that on our bucket list of places to travel. That's going to be so exciting. We'll be doing a Disneyland weekend after the wedding until our honeymoon in 2021.

We are definitely waiting. We're getting married Memorial Day because of the availability of our venue, but my job kicks into high gear Memorial Day and doesn't quit till after Labor Day, so we're going on our honeymoon around Columbus Day. I don't mind waiting, but I hope we can take a night or two off right after the wedding and just enjoy the feeling of being married Smiley smile

Because my FH and I’s wedding is in March, it’s in the middle of the semester so we’re waiting till June/July to go on our honeymoon so we can be gone longer than a weekend! Only a couple months but a wait nonetheless.

We are going to St. Lucia the end of September. My fiancé did tons of research and the odds aren’t bad.

We’re planning on California, spend the first half of the week in San Diego and the other half in Anaheim for Disney!
