Guests forgetting wedding favors

Now, someone already just posted what you guys are doing for wedding favors. My question is to people who have been at weddings or already had their wedding, how many actually forget to take them? Now, someone already just posted what you guys are doing for wedding favors. My question is to people who have been at weddings or already had their wedding, how many actually forget to take them? I have a really cute idea for wedding favors: Pint glass with our names, date, and an old vintage man and woman picture on there. It's about $1.50 a glass and I'm having about 120 give or take guests. Side note: the majority of people at our wedding will be in their late night 20s and the wedding will end at 1am. Do a lot of people forget to take them? Who has a story because I would love to hear about it!

I don't think I'd want something with someone else's pic and date on it... I don't have enough room in my cabinet for a glass I wouldn't use again. We recently just did a purge of our cup/glass cabinet... its a nice idea but I'd probably not take it so expect that to happen quite a bit.

I think you can avoid people not realizing their favors with a simple tag that says "For: Name."

I would not want the glass. I would take it because that just rude to "forget it" but then I would end up not used and eventually I would get rid and of it

My cousin got married this past weekend, they had personalized koozies. They bought more than they had guests. MANY were left behind, one of the jr bridesmaids just started passing them out at the end of the reception

I may take the favor, but it would probably float around my car until I clean it out. Then end up a change container or in the trash.

@Mrs.Davis mine would float around my car as well and if it got broken I'd be pissy that I had to vacuum up a glass I didn't want in the first place.

I did little boxes of Sixlets candy that I bought in bulk from a local store. About 1/3 was left but it's not being wasted because I'm slowly eating them myself and giving them to coworkers. If you get something personalized that isn't edible, it'll literally go to waste...you can't return it to the vendor and it would be really awkward trying to shove those glasses off on your coworkers.

Most of the time, favors are left behind, unless they're chocolates.

I don't need another glass in my cupboard. I also don't drink beer. And I, too, would not want anyone else's name on my glass. I would feel the same way even if it were my close friends and family. I think it's a waste of money, honestly.

Well thank you all for your honesty! I am definitely rethinking this.

I think the key is to have something that you would be happy to use if every guest left theirs behind, particularly if it isn't edible. If a couple uses koozies, they might not mind having 75 extra after the wedding. If you don't, then 75 koozies is a total waste. That way you are happy either way. Second question is what would your guests actually want. Which is usually something edible.

Like @AnewH, we are doing stadium cups. They'll be our drinkware for the bar and then people can take them home. FH and my dad both like to drink out of stadium cups all the time. I'm also going off the assumption that people will just take them home for their kids to use or for their random cup when they need a drink in the middle of the night or whatever. We're also having edible, non-personalized favors. I know the cups are unnecessary but I really want them lol

I'm not sure why everyone talks about having one glass... You are more likely have to have 2 glasses (if you're engaged/married, because it would be rude to invite you and not your FH/DH) and more if you have kids going who could take some. Plus, with so many people not taking favors, you could potentially take a whole set for yourself lol.

@Leah: Yet here I am on the other side of the spectrum: I hate koozies. I find them super uncomfortable (small hands and carpal tunnel), so they'd be wasted on me. DF doesn't like them either.

@Amanda: You'd want a set of glasses with another couple's names and wedding date on them?

If I couldn't get the ink off, they'd turn into my new wateremarbling glass for nail polish.

We did small mason jars with spices for Lowcountry Boil in them and a recipe. We used the same spice for the dinner at the reception. We had 2 favors left- people here love their boil and making a spice mix that's not in a bag can be expensive and time consuming.

We went to a wedding that had shot glasses with their names and date on them. There were many left on the table and we didn't take them either. We love shot glasses but not with someone else's name and date.

With our favors, I did name tags on each favors, after the reception, only one was forgotten. Even the Belles with their Namecard were taken home.
