Guests forgetting wedding favors

Now, someone already just posted what you guys are doing for wedding favors. My question is to people who have been at weddings or already had their wedding, how many actually forget to take them? Now, someone already just posted what you guys are doing for wedding favors. My question is to people who have been at weddings or already had their wedding, how many actually forget to take them? I have a really cute idea for wedding favors: Pint glass with our names, date, and an old vintage man and woman picture on there. It's about $1.50 a glass and I'm having about 120 give or take guests. Side note: the majority of people at our wedding will be in their late night 20s and the wedding will end at 1am. Do a lot of people forget to take them? Who has a story because I would love to hear about it!

My cousin did mason jar glasses on them that said "cheers" with their names and wedding date underneath. There were so many left over...I took 20 and scratched off the names and date and now have all these cute glasses that say "cheers" on them. lol

Ya I agree with the majority here. People usually leave that stuff on purpose. I know that I don't want a glass that says Mr & Mrs so & so on it with the wedding date. I am, personally, trying to stay away from anything engraved with our dates or monograms for our wedding guests and the BP. Maybe try something edible, like a candy bar possibly? That might go over a little better with your guests.

This is why I'm 100% not doing favors. I went to a wedding last weekend and the favors were cowbells. No one took them. And they were REALLY annoying the whole reception

@Lillian lol thats where most stuff i don't want end up. my trunk is full of unwanted favors. The only favors I actually used were the champagne bottles or chocolate. maybe a candle.

We are doing either mini wine or champagne favors. maybe scented candles.

What about giving the cute pint glass on the rehearsal dinner for people who would actual appreciate it? And it's not a picture of us on there!

I was going to say age, but @Mna makes a good point.

I just tend not to want clutter anymore. I feel like the older I've gotten (39), the less I keep stuff. There's shit everywhere so I don't want to bring home more shit.

I will say that I have kept a wine glass with a couple's name on it. But the only reason was because I only had one other wine glass at home (after breaking so many).

OP do yourself a favor and skip the favors. No one cares about them.

Our reception is at the Loveless Café (Nashville)- and they are famous for their biscuits and preserves.

I'm doing their small jar of preserves as favors and if anyone "forgets" them - I'm thrilled to eat them or take back for co-workers.

I'm probably going to order a bunch for the "party" back in FL with friends too!

I am choosing not to to favors at all because I think they are a waste but that's just my opinion! However I did go to a wedding three weeks ago (FH was a groomsmen) and they had personalized pint glasses with their names and wedding date on it with a hippy-ish logo on it. I don't drink beer and am not into the logo on it but that being said I love the glasses! I think they're a great size and I use it for water or juice all the time. I don't care that it has their names on it. When I pull it out of the cabinet to use it I'm reminded of what a fun night we had!! I say if you want to do it, go for it! Smiley smile

I did wine bottle stoppers and there were very few left at the end despite a handful of no shows.

@y&f - Champagne, or any alcohol, is a great favor! If people left their's behind, I would probably take them home with me.

Went to a wedding Saturday where the favor was homemade body scrub. I was excited about it, but probably 80% of the guests left them behind.

The only personalized non-edible thing FH and I have kept are koozies. We would get rid of those too but they always disappear only to be found months later.

Recently one of my colleague had a sweet sixteen for her daughter. The favor was mugs with her daughter's name of them. Since her name is the same as mine, she asked if I wanted the leftover cups. I figured why not? There could only be a few, right? And I could use them at work, so no one got confused and used my mug.

I now have 135 mugs with my name on them. Seriously. Only 15 people took these mugs home. Don't let this happen to you, OP!

Anybody out there named Elizabeth wanting 134 mugs, please let me know!

We did bags of coffee and tea. I had probably 25 or 30 left over (but I had extra to begin with) so only about 10-15 people didn't take them. I prefer edible favors because once you eat them, they don't take up space in your house. And you don't have to worry about them not matching people's decor. I am also in the anti-koozie camp, because H doesn't drink and I usually stick to wine.

I had to remind people that we had them, but I may or may not take something like that. I don't care to have random glasses with other people's anniversaries on them. lol. I'm sure they are cute, but not something everyone will take. On a side note with stories, my cousin did personalized glasses like this and about a year later, found one in a thrift store. lol. She bought it so a stranger wouldn't have it.

I got a wine glass as a favor from the last wedding I went to and I use it all the time. Some people will love it and some won't. Just do what makes you happy. I personally don't care for edible favors. What am I going to do with chocolate, candy, whatever? It usually sits in my cabinet for a while and I eventually throw it away. I'd rather have something useful that reminds me of the couple. Unless it's homemade jam or something. That's cute.

We are doing coffee, tea, and bagels. Things that if people don't take they won't go to waste.
