Grow Hair Grow! Wedding hair question.

Pan, on October 28, 2011 at 7:34 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28

I cut my hair all off a month before FH proposed. All of the hairstyles I would want for the wedding would require long hair. I know that I have 5 months, but that's only about 5 inches of hair. Any tips for growing your hair faster? Someone told me to eat a lot of jell-o. Does that actually work?

Prenatal vitamins, and PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN! I ALWAYS eat 1 hard boiled egg for breakfast, and usually a greek yogurt in the afternoon. I used to have weak brittle nails, they're long and strong now :-D I always kept my hair short and after FH proposed, my sister and I made a pact (she wears her hair short too) that we could not cut our hair, excluding trims. My hair was above my shoulders back in March, now it's past my shoulders. You can do it!

Mine was past my shoulder blades. I wasn't expecting the proposal, and cut it. I'll have to give the vitamins a try. I know a lot of women who said that their hair and nails were amazing while they were on those, but I didn't know that you could get them if you're not pregnant. Is there a particular brand of greek yogurt you would recommend?

Extensions are always an option. My hair grows rather quickly but I really want my hair REALLY long. I doubt it will get to the length I actually want it. So I will probably get extensions. I've had them before. You can always get the ones that clip in or even get a hairstylest to glue them in for however long you want them!

Those are my backup plan. I want to try growing my own hair first though so I don't have to worry about any hair mishaps during the wedding as I've heard that they sometimes come loose or slip.

If you get it done by a professional it shouldn't. When I was a teenager I use to headbang with those things in. Haha.

Also, get your hair trimmed! It helps keep your hair healthy and I have found over the years it helps my hair grow. It may be able to help yours as well. Smiley winking

I haven't read any of the ^^^ comments up there yet. But, I do hair professionally, and if you ONLY have five months... Try clip in hair extensions. Human hair ones, you can style them as you please, and have many colors to math with your hair. If not, you can always dye them.

OR, try sew in or glue ones. light just on the ends, not the whole weft. We recommend, trimming your hair every month and a half, and using a good protein filler. Drink your 8 glasses of water a day- I'm telling you it does wonder for things growing. Gelatin is normally just for nail growth. BUT, Don't wash your hair everyday, natural oils in your hair help coat each strand and keep it healthy. Don't heat stye your hair as much (if you do) and let your hair dry naturally. Use a good deep conditioner fredric fekkai has a great hair mask you can pick up at your local walmart, and try using a silk protein every time you do wash your hair. Chi's silk infusion is awesome for optimal hair health. Hope these tips helped you out.

You can get a big bottle of prenatals at any pharmacy or even walmart. When I took them my hair and nails grew like crazy!

Biotin supplements! There amazing! You can get them at walmart. I use the 5000mcg. One a day and your hair grows like twice as fast.

Also make sure you use a concentrated conditioner. Pantene has a beautiful lengths conditioner that I use all the time. The conditioner will help keep your hair moisturized and cause less split ends. After I started using a better conditioner, my hair grew a lot!

Vitamin E is also very good too. It helps hair, skin and nails. Smiley smile

Take prenatals! they are perfect.. and you can get good ones at the store.... any OTC one is fine. it wont be shoulderblade length by Feb, especially since hair grows slower in the winter regardless, but still, it will help and just do extensions on the big day

I cant imagine that jello would do much, but i have been taking biotin for about 4 months and the change in my hair is unreal. not only is my existing hair healthier and growing... but i have a lot of NEW growth... meaning more / better hair for the wedding YAY!

get it today - it does take a couple of months to build up in your system... but you look like you have much better hair than me to start with so...

    good luck!

When I cut my super long hair very short, I hated it and got extensions. My hair grew super fast when the extensions were in and it was so healthy when I took them out. I've had all kinds of hair extensions, I cut my hair a lot.

The weaved kind knotted up my hair and were horrible. The glue in kind made my hair fall out as I'm allergic to glue.

The best ones ever were the last ones I had. They were little individual strands of hair stuck together with keratin and they were crimped onto small sections of my own hair using tiny little rings. They didn't damage my hair at all and were super easy to remove. You can take them out and move them up as your hair grows. I loved them. The only thing I didn't like was the actual extenstions were straight hair and my hair is naturally curly so I either had to straighten my hair to blend in or curl the extentions.

When I want my hair to grow, I take the vitamins made for hair. They have some for nails too.

I am trying to grow out my hair too. I read trimming the ends & growing faster is a myth? It just makes it look better because the dead ends are gone. Who knows, maybe it depends on the person.

Anyone using Biotin: do you take Biotin by itself? Or in multivitamin form?
