Grooms attire for beach wedding

Kristin, on February 24, 2013 at 7:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

Hi all,

What did/is your groom where at your beach wedding? We are not getting married ON the beach, but on a grassy area above the beach. Still, it will be fairly hot I would assume. We are getting married at 5pm in Hawaii. Any suggestions?

Depends on how casual I've seen the following : nice un-tucked button up T-shirts that had a print(not busy), with nice Bermuda Shorts and flip flops.. this was for a more casual look - the bride was in a white flowy gown and was barefoot.

The other was slacks and un-tucked button up T-shirts that were a solid color... little dressier. I don't remember shoes...

Here is how the guys will look with the groom wearing a lightweight or linen suit. I'm hoping to find it at either Burlington, Sears, or JCPenneys for an affordable price.

You can check out my pinterest board for some more inspiration. I have a few other groom's attire for the beach on there.

Thank you both for your suggestions. My FH loves to dress up as he doesn't get to in his usual everyday wear, however, I fear he will be too hot wearing a full suit. I will def. check out your pinterest board for some more inspiration, thanks Aimee!!

My fh is wearing a 3 piece grey suit. The vests will be grey, tie white for him and blue for the guys. I still wanted a semi formal feel, but he can take the jacket off right after pics!

My FH and his GM's are wearing khaki pants and white linen shirts. FH's shirt will just be different from the GM's.

Groom is wearing a short sleeve linen shirt and linen pants. GM are wearing nice button up shirts and linen shorts. Ours is very casual and FH has to wear a tie everyday so he is not wearing one on his wedding day =)

I love the idea of beige/tan suits for the men!

Thanks everyone. I know my FH wanted to wear a tie and "dress up" too, as he never gets to for work. I also like the idea of grey or tan suits for the men. Think we may go with this option and flip flops as I am also wearing flip flops for the ceremony! Smiley smile

@Kristin, get your flip flops early! I made the mistake of waiting to get them for the GM from FamousFootwear.com. DO NOT order from them. They sent me all the wrong sizes & were more than unhelpful with their error.

I ended up buying them from shoes.com and am crossing my fingers they work out.

We had an outdoor wedding on a terrace overlooking the beach... but our wedding was formal, so he was in a tux....

remember that in the evening, especially near the water it cools down and you will definitely get the ocean breeze. hawaii is pretty temperate year-round as well -- so it will be gorgeous!

For my summer weddings, I recommend no jacket for the guys. With 90 degree temps and 70 percent humidity -- they'd be passing out!

@Lizz - Thanks for the tip!! I plan to order our flip flops soonish. We still have 7 months to go but I would hate to not have anything for him or his GM to wear! Me as well...Are you ordering your flip flops at shoes.com as well? Anyone have suggestions or places to get pretty and comfortable bridal flip flops? I need a slight heel or maybe a bit of a wedge.

@Nancy & Ashlee - Yes, I think Hawaii will be fairly temperate. I don't want my FH to pass out before I get to the alter! So we are definitely going with no jacket...just wondering if suit pants, khakis or linen pants would be better. I still want a formal feel but without him sweating and being uncomfortable.
