Is there any way this can be executed tastefully?? All ideas and suggestions welcome! Our wedding colors are ivory, moss green, and choc. brown. But, with our wedding about 30 days out there isn't much time for such a drastic change! I'm almost thinking fudge it and just roll with it...worse case we'll just look tacky, crap!

Hey hey hey!!! WHo said ivory was tacky? It surely is NOT and my FH will be in Ivory. And with a lighter caramel vest and tie but almost just like this. The GM will be in black and my 2 sons who are walking me down the aisle will have on Ivory jackets and black pants to tie it all together.

I will note, the ivory seems to be pulled off a lot better with those of us with caramel or mocha complexions... @Marlina, your H will definitely pull it off! Smiley smile

Uh, did you see my H? We just got back from Hawaii and he didn't change a shade. But even the whiter Spanish boys are still just Spanish enough to pull off ivory, I really don't know what it is, LOL.

Any which way, not tacky for anyone, maybe not the best look for all, but not tacky by any means.

Yea, ivory isnt tacky, it just isn't everyone's cup of tea. Not sure why your FH is saying black tuxes are for funerals- never saw a man in a black tux at a funeral before and it is hands down the most common color for grooms to wear. I second Reenski's comment on the ivory looking MUCH better on darker complexions. My friend wore white tux and he was as white as could be, it wasn't my favorite look on him. If you and FH want ivory, do it! But the tan is a good option- my sister is doing that for her guys, and the pics look nice so far (havent seen one) but you wont find a tux in that color easily- more like a suit if you are cool with that.

Oh, they're not widely considered to be tacky. Plenty of people wear white tuxes. I remember seeing several men who looked INSANELY sexy in white tuxes.

Just don't borrow dad's from his wedding, and you'll be fine. It's all in the cut of the garment, you see.

Disagree that black goes with everything... Black and brown clash horribly!!! An Ivory tux will look great! Smiley smile Tacky is the stupidest word ive ever heard of!

@Shawndra, OMG, you have no idea, I finally just bought my H a black belt so he'd quite wearing his brown belt with everything (including to a wedding, thank goodness he had a vest that somewhat covered it.) Sheesh. And HE'S the fashionable one in the relationship!

Thanks ladies!! There was thread recently posted on here with a few ppl suggesting that white/ivory tux were distasteful. So, I panicked a little and wanted more feedback on the topic. When I get home tonight I'm going to post a pic of what FH looks like in his ivory tux w/ the moss green tie and vest.

Reeneski-FH and I are both a mocha/caramel complexion so I guess we have that part covered lol!

Shawndra-never thought of it that way, but you're right...I'd never dress up in brown in black! I think tan will be the only alternative.

I actually had a guy rent an ivory tux for prom from my shop this year. I thought it looked really nice.

Marlina- FH wanted to rent that exact combination! But, when we got there he loved how the moss green gave the ivory tux a pop of color.

Like others have mentioned, tan tuxes or suits would be nice. Our guys wore tan tuxes for our wedding, and they looked great.
