Geeky Wedding Music

Samantha, on June 15, 2013 at 9:46 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15

So, we are trying to come up with some romantic sounding geeky music to play before the ceremony. So far I have the Kingdom Hearts Theme and Once Upon a Time/Storybook Love from Princess Bride. We don't mind if they are movie or video game related. Any suggestions for some more music? Also, on a side note, how many songs should we have set aside to play?

I'll be playing the Romance Theme from LoZ Skyward Sword while people gather. Final Fantasy games have a ton of beautiful music to choose from.

Here's the list of music ideas I started for my own ceremony.

    Romance Theme—Skyward Sword

    The Promise—Final Fantasy XIII

    Theme of Love—Final Fantasy IV

Someday the Dream Will End—Final Fantasy X

    Julia—Final Fantasy VIII

    Calm and Hope—Twilight Princess

    Lugia’s Song—Pokemon

    Zelda’s Lullaby—Ocarina of Time

    Aerith’s Theme—Final Fantasy VII

    Hikari (Orchestral)—Kingdom Hearts

    Aqua’s Theme—Kingdom Hearts

    Kagome’s Theme—Inuyasha

    Prayers and Wishes—Inuyasha

Cantina Song from Star Wars during the cocktail hour. Fiance has made his case that that song MUST be played.

My fiance and I like singing "Que Sera Sera" from Katamari Damacy to each other. I also find "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley to be extremely geeky (don't think it was intended to be though).

Do you like anime at all?

edit: We are having a Studio Ghibli themed wedding, so a lot of our ceremony music will come from various movies (and maybe Ni no Kuni). There are a lot of piano, woodwind, and even music box covers of various Studio Ghibli songs out there. I bought all of mine off iTunes. Not sure if you are a Ghibli fan, but if you are, don't forget to check them out.

    Good luck with everything!

If you want instrumental and geeky like video games and stuff check out Lindsey Stirling on YouTube. She's pretty good.
