Friday weddings...Yay or nay?

We were married on a Friday. Everything went really smooth. We actually did the "rehearsal dinner" as a breakfast the morning of so people could fly in late if needed.

My wedding is on a Friday so I guess I'd say yay lol

Friday the 13th is just a date, anyway so I'm glad you're not superstitious about it!

I am okay with Friday weddings as long as it's late evening (after 7). I would hate to have to take a full day off work for a local wedding.

My wedding is on a Friday, I'm hoping it goes well. I've seen mixed reviews on here. I chose Friday hoping to save money...I don't think I'm saving much. I also have concerns about people getting off work...

I would totally attend a Friday wedding. Thursday's, a little tough because I have to return to work the next day.

Im going to a wedding on that date and have zero problems with it. The only thing is give people plenty of notice for work and babysitters (if you're not having kids at the wedding). You will have people that cannot take work off and may not be able to come.

I'll be a Friday bride too. We're having a DW so we're looking forward to spending Sat & Sun celebrating with our families post-wedding.

I'm cool with attending a Friday wedding. It can be tricky if you'll have a lot of guests traveling from out of town, though. Check with the people you absolutely have to have there to make sure they'll be able to make it work.

My wedding is on a Friday. I have a feeling I will get more declines than I would have if it was a Saturday wedding but I have prepared myself for that. The people who really want to be there will be there!

Friday is becoming the new Saturday, I don't blink twice if I get invited to one. More than 50% of the weddings I've gone to over the last couple of years are on a Friday. While it's true that you might receive slightly more declines from OOT guests, if you are my best friend or immediate family member, I'm taking that day off anyways. Go for it!

Yeap I think Friday weddings are just fine! Evening is best, though IMO.

Thanks everyone. That makes me feel good. Everyone at work that will go is on my same schedule mostly. Weven only have about 5 people coming from out of state.

Friday's are usually cheaper (yay!) and I don't see an issue with them personally.

We attended a Friday wedding last year and we missed the ceremony because we didn't know there would be construction on the 2 lane highway (and only road you can take to get there). The wedding was also a good 45 minute drive away and out in the middle of nowhere so we also got lost on dirt roads because we couldn't get reception for our gps lol. So I am totally ok as a guest attending a Friday wedding as long as the couple won't be mad if I might be late.

Ours was on a Friday. Some OOT guests could not come but otherwise no issues.

Friday weddings happen all the time now. I've been to several Friday night weddings for family, and I can't count how many we've done professionally. I can't think of one that didn't look just like a Saturday wedding in terms of attendance and excitement.

I would go to a Friday wedding. My day ends at 3:30, so I have a good schedule to attend. I agree with it starting in the evening, so people can beat the traffic and not have to take work off.

Unrelated, but my mom was born on Friday, Oct. 13, so I don't see it as bad luck at all.
