Friday weddings...Yay or nay?

Friday weddings are cool. Nice way to start the weekend!

We got married on Friday, and it worked out perfectly. Our OOT guests were already taking time off to come, so it didn't really matter to them. We also got a really good discount on our venue with choosing a Friday. I think this would be fine.

I think Friday weddings are great as long as they are in the evening. It sucks here with NY traffic but at least people don't have to take the whole day off. My wedding falls on a Friday so I say yay!! Ooo Friday the 13th spooky lol jk. I love anything Halloween or spooky related so Friday the 13 did sort of make me think of Jason movie marathons lol.

We did a Friday too, so I'm pro Friday! Our guests mentioned it was nice to still be able to have a weekend.

I think Friday weddings are fine as long as it is later in the evening. For us with the amount of people a Friday or Sunday just didn't seem logical so we are having a Saturday wedding

My wedding is in a Friday I don't think it's that uncommon my birthday is the 13 and I don't always have it on a Friday. That date should be fine

When we first started calling venues, only 1 had the Saturday we were interested in open. That venue ended-up being our favorite, but for a few days, we thought we might have to do a Friday (though none of the venues near us offered a Friday discount).

We have a lot of out of state guests, so we knew Saturday would be better for them. Our closest friends and family all said they would prefer Saturday so they wouldn't have to take an additional day off work but would if they had to (my friends/family live 10 hours away and therefore already need Friday off to travel). However, now that we booked the Saturday date, more are more are deciding to travel on Thursday and make a long weekend out of the event.

I don't mind Friday weddings if they are later in the day. (5pm and later)

I'm having a Friday wedding too! They're not popular but I'm thrilled about having the rest of the weekend with my hubby!

Ask your bridal party how they feel about it. Our wedding is on a Saturday. Some people said they cannot come to the rehearsal the night before because of work. However, it's very different for an actual wedding. I would do whatever you have to do...just make it later.

My date is also 10-13 but since it's this year we are getting married on a Thursday. Friday as a wedding day is a totally normal.

My wedding is on Friday and it was way less expensive than the Saturday evening wedding I had pictured in my head before booking. Happy about that!

ETA Friday wedding and Sunday weddings are definitely indeed becoming more popular due to fact that Saturday's cost so much. It depends where you are though.

We're having a Friday wedding, also on the 13! We're starting it at 6. I wanted to start it later but my parents were concerned that dinner wouldn't be until at least 8, and for the older relatives that wouldn't be okay. In my opinion if people really want to be there for it, they'll get there. If not no big deal.

I would love a Friday wedding. You have the rest of the weekend to recoup. I would even wait to honeymoon until that Monday.

I am a Friday bride and am thrilled about it. Not only is the date special to us but we've had a few vendors give us great "Friday" pricing (including our venue). We are also having our ceremony at 330 but will inform guests if they can't make it to the ceremony that they are still more than welcome to the reception! Plus our guests/we get the whole rest of the weekend!
