What time is your ceremony and reception? We are getting married on a Friday and have yet to figure out a good time (ceremony and reception will be at the same place). I would like to take pictures in an area about 10 minutes from the venue, but dont want for my guests to feel like the day is dragging on.
Since we are getting married in January (sun sets early!) our ceremony is at 4, reception 6. Ceremony and reception are at the same location. To keep our company entertained cocktail hour will be at 4:30 (following the ceremony) to give us enough time for photos.
I'm getting married on a Friday, the ceremony is at 4pm and reception at 7pm. They are at different locations and I will be doing all my pictures after the ceremony, not doing a first look.
Our ceremony will start at 4:30 and go until 5. Then our reception/dinner starts at 6pm. Our venue has small shops people can go to while we get our pictures done. Our send off is at 10pm.
We're getting married at 6pm and then our reception starts at 7. We're getting married at the venue where the reception is. I'm a little concerned cause it's a November so the sun will be down already so all our photos will be inside ☹️
We plan on our ceremony being around 6:30/7:00 pm - it will be outdoors, in August, in North Carolina! So hoping the heat will subside a bit by then! Also, I'm not sure many people mind if it's earlier. An excuse for a long weekend! If people have enough advanced notice, they can typically make it work without issue.
Ours is Friday October 30th 2020 and we have the ceremony starting at 530, cocktail hour from 6-7pm and the reception will be from 7-11 pm. I’m sending save the dates in the spring and invitations about 2 months before the wedding so guests have time to leave work early or take the day off. We have no idea what time we are getting ready but we are doing first look and stuff so we can spend more time enjoying things throughout the cocktail and reception without having to do a ton of pics. So far I haven’t had any issues with the time or anything. If people know ahead of time then it gives them the option to work things out and get back to you. There’s always the option of telling people if they can’t make it to a like 4-6 o’clock ceremony then they can always come to the reception. We are doing everything in one place so basically for the holding the ceremony there it’s $3 per person extra from the actual reception guest list which was close to 90$ per person after taxes. So if I invite 80 people to my ceremony and only like 50 can come but a few can come to the reception then I pay the per person for the reception but I would save $3 for every person who doesn’t come to the ceremony. It all depends on who decides to attend what!
We are asking people to come at 5:30 (aka straight from work if you live in NYC where the wedding is) and the ceremony is at 6 sharp (because sundown that day is 6:02pm)
We're having a destination wedding in Negril Jamaica on Friday September 20th.
Our ceremony begins at 5pm. The sunset is estimated at about 6:09. Our reception starts at 7pm and is at the same location. While our guests wait for us to take picture and sign our marriage certificate in between the ceremony and reception, they will be able to enjoy the beautiful sunset and/or have a drink at the bar.
