For the ladies who didn't wear a veil: Do you regret it?

Jennifer, on August 12, 2011 at 6:02 PM Posted in Planning 1 35

I have never planned on wearing a veil since I started planning the wedding. And even getting my dress, I didn't even play in the veils because I didn't want one. Now I'm wondering, will I regret it? I could get a cheap one just for the ceremony, if I wanted to, or should I stick with my original plan and not wear one at all? For those that didn't wear a veil, do you wish you would have or are you glad you didn't??

I did not wear a veil and I don't regret it. I even spent $100 on a beautiful veil because my mom wanted me to wear it. I figured I would just wear it for the ceremony, but I honestly felt better without it, so I didn't wear it.

I didn't wear one and don't regret. It was never important to me.

I'm going veil-less too. When I started planning our wedding, I asked all my friends what they would have done differently. Not a single person said anything about the veil. So AllisaurusRex, I hope that helps :-)

Thank you Sanya! From the beginning I was totally against having one, being that my personality and everything about our wedding is untraditional. But lately I've been hearing women say they didn't really feel like a bride until they put on a veil. I guess we will see how I feel after my dress is made and I get to try it on, maybe I will feel like a bride without it.

I asked my FH if he could picture me in a veil and he said no, which kinda hurt my feelings, even though I don't know why, since I never planned on wearing one. Now I wonder if I will look "bridal" enough without one for at least the ceremony, and so FH can finally see me in a veil since he can't picture it to save his life. Smiley sad

I didn't wear one - I'm 34, and it's my second marriage, so I would have felt silly.

Me too, the way I want my hair doesn't allow me to wear one. Only would I would consider (if it'll even look good on me) is the bird cage veil. My hair is going to be a side pony tail with curls, with a mini white calla lily in my hair Smiley smile

I'm not using a veil. He knows who he's marrying; no need for a big reveal. Smiley winking

I didn't try on veils with my dress. I have no idea how I even want my hair, but I had said no veil originally and I don't even know why. But I was watching say yes to the dress last night (haha) and half the girls didn't cry and say "yes" until they put a veil on them and then they looked like a bride. So now I'm wondering if I will look bridal enough. Smiley laugh

Here's my thinking on a veil, you only get the chance to wear one once. it's not like something you can wear to the bar or something... I mean other then for the bach party but that one is usually cover in little plastic penis'. So if there is any part of you that thinks you might regret not wearing a veil even just a a little bit get a cheap one wear it for a few pictures and whatnot and then from there you can take it off or wear it down the aisle it's up to you. but you will never get the chance to wear one again so at least rock one for a few minutes.

I had been looking at the birdcage veils a little bit, but I would never even consider a traditional veil. Just my opinion. I'm still not sure if I'm going to get a veil, but I'm thinking more "no" than "yes".

I didn't think I would want one, maybe a flower in my hair I thought, but since looking around on WW, a lot of you have such beautiful veils I may be changing my mind.
