Flowers...deliver for a fee or pick up for free

I picked up all of my flowers 2 days before the wedding, handed them off to my florist to arrange, and then she delivered and set up the day-of. I'm returning her vases back by the end of this week when the flowers all die. it worked out well.

How much is the fee? Is there room for it in your budget?

I'd just have them delivered, so you don't have to worry about/deal with it on your wedding day.

I think it depends on how much the delivery and set up is. Are they just delivering? Or does that figure in set up too?

Most people I spoke to delivery ranged between $20 and $50. I know the morning of I'm going to be too busy and hectic and not want to worry about running to get the flowers or having someone else pick them up and then worry about whether they get messed up and who will fix them. I figured, in my stress mode I know I would gladly bribe a friend with $40 to pick them up that morning, so I just went ahead with adding the delivery cost to the flower total.

Sometimes you just pay for the convenience. I would pay for them to be delivered.

HOWEVER, I did choose one florist over the other because one delivered for free and the other didn't.

Maybe you can negotiate the delivery fee?

Have her deliver everything and pay the fee. She should be there early enough to deliver all of the personal pieces in time for pics, and then she starts on the room decor. I don't know how elaborate your centerpieces are, but transporting ten of them can be tricky. They're bulky, sitting in wet oasis, and need remain upright. If someone trips carrying one of them inside, you've got a broken centerpiece that she'll have to come out to fix (and you'll end up being charged for that). You don't need to worry about picking up flowers on your wedding day (or assigning someone to do it). DIY is for the months and weeks leading up the wedding, not on the wedding day iself.

I am FOR SURE having them delivered! I would hate to have someone else ruin them, at least it they get ruined during delivery, I can blame the florist and not a close family member or friend!

Eh, I picked mine up the morning of with both of my MOHs helping. It was 7 bouquets, and 6 bouts. But, we picked a florist on purpose that had amazing reviews and was 5 minutes from the hotel, so it was not difficult to pick them up. If it was out of the way, we would have done delivery. But you will need to have multiple people go, and probably make sure one has an SUV if you do it. We didn't have to be at the venue until 130 so we picked them up at noon and it was fine.

Have them delivered. My florist is also setting them all up.

Our fee was $25.00 was well worth it so we do not have to worry about it the day of or the day before!

I'll be picking mine up the day before. Kind of the only option for me because I'm using my local florist in NJ for my wedding in CT. We're having a small wedding though, so it's just the bouquets, boutonnieres/corsages, 5 centerpieces, and a few small ceremony decorations. And either myself and/or the BMs will be setting up. Which set up isn't a big deal, just putting vases on tables and hanging flowers on a few aisles.

If you have more flowers, it might be easier to just have them set it up for you. As the ladies said, it's one less thing to worry about on the day and hopefully it won't cost too much.

See what the delivery fee is and if you can afford it.

I'm having mine delivered and set up. . seems less stressful that way.

Assuming it's a reasonable fee, I'd have them delivered. I had the same debate for the sake of saving $35 and decided it wasn't worth the stress for anyone!

It depends on the fee. Our fee was $150. I didn't think it was worth it. H picked up the flowers the morning of our wedding and drove them to the venue and gave them to my coordinator to set up. It took him all of 45 minutes.

I did my own. 15 centerpieces, bouquets, table arrangements, chuppah flowers. Etc... Dragging them in sucked it took 2 cars and the whole time I was paranoid something would break or it would fall over.... I'd pay the fee. They really are a lot of

I would pay up to $100 to get them delivered and not worry about it.
