So I went to David's yesterday and I was so excited to try on dresses. I've been saying I'm gong to lose some weight for months since I've been engaged, but I have been really lazy. Not to mention I have a work from home job so I sit ALL DAY LONG. I originally thought I would wear a size 10 dress...

So I went to David's yesterday and I was so excited to try on dresses. I've been saying I'm gong to lose some weight for months since I've been engaged, but I have been really lazy. Not to mention I have a work from home job so I sit ALL DAY LONG. I originally thought I would wear a size 10 dress because I have big boobs and I wear a size 7 jeans. Well I try n my first dress and I won't even zip past the middle of my torso. So we get a 12 dress and it just barely zips! I was completely devastated! I ended up having to try on size 14 dresses the whole time I was there, they were saggy in the hips and stomach ares but they fit in the chest area. I just went in the changing room and cried;( I really never realized I was SO big. I found one dress that I really like but I can't get pass the weight issue, I'm seriously getting on the ball with taking control of my weight. I'll post the pic of the dress and nobody laugh because I know I looks a mess, disregard the birdcage as well.

You look beautiful in your dress. I wear a size 16 normally in dress and my wedding dress is a size 22, so they do run really small.

Thanks ladies, I did feel amazing in that dress, it's the only one I was comfortable taking pics in lol. My consultant made it worse telling me to pull size 8 dresses! She must have been new lol. David's called me today and said they can put a corset in the back and add extra bling under the bust. Yaaaaay I'm excited. I am nervous now about picking a dress so early.

You look great and dresses are different from jeans- especially wedding dresses. And if you knew your largest part were your tatas, than you should have realized they need to fit you in a dress that covers your largest part- be happy it was the girls and not the tummy! haha but seriously, you dont need to lose weight, you need alterations.

Dresses are sooo randomly sized!!! You look beautiful, it's only a number... And the numbers don't mean that size 14 you're big, it merely means the pattern they have to follow is 14 to make sure everything fits... Appropriately!

Ive had this issue for years... everyone is so afraid of that darn number, they want to be as small as humanly possible... But honestly try on dresses and don't look at the numbers until you're done and ready to order, have the consultant pull.....

I am size 9 jean but an 8petite dress.

It's all just a number... And they do typically run small...

Your FH will not look at you in that dress and say oh she's 14... I don't like it... He won't ask size he clearly loves your body and will think you look amazing no matter what size it is!

Jaletia I am gladd you are feeling better this morning! and the fact they can make the modifications for you is awesome Smiley laugh

to answer your earlier question about my fitness pal, its a calorie and excercise tracker. free online and they have mobile apps as well. I use it occasionally to make sure I am trying to maintain my weight not gain more. occasionally i splurge a bit and try to make up for it by eating good the next few days. It is just a reminder to me that yes i need to squeeze into my wedding dress so no i can not have cake for desert every night hehe.

You look stunning, I do not think you need to lose weight. If anything if you absolutely wanted to do something I would say tone muscle. There are plenty of at home exercises you can do to help with that. Crunches getting some little dumbbells for arms and such. You could take up Pilates or yoga. something fun but not crazy like insanity type stuff.

    Ran out of room.

As for hair accessories, you have time. Figure out what you want to do with your hair first. do you want a veil for ceremony and none for reception or do you want it on all the time or not at all?

I am having a floral hair clip, no veil. But thats me! Other girls dont feel like a "bride" unless they have a veil. Not so true with me. If it was a big deal for me to wear a veil it would only be ceremony, no reception. I want to have fun not worry where its floating to (my food etc).

Veils are expensive at the boutique, you can make them or get them online for significantly cheaper. Take your time and then figure it out as time passes Smiley smile

Ok, you are NOT big. You look amazing in that dress! And my best friend is also well endowed. She normally wears a size 8-10 jeans and her dress was an 18, all because of her bust! So you have rockin' curves. And wedding dresses run big. I don't think anyone on here has their wedding dress (if its "wedding industry") in the same size as their street clothes. You really are killing it in that dress, btw.

I knew immediately that I wanted a birdcage but I have my whole wedding planned already! And since I'm your date twin you can kinda know how fast that is.

I think either option would look great, and it'll depend on the rest of your wedding. Just know, I made my birdcage and it was kinda a paint and you have to be careful how you store it or it misshapes really fast.

I did a REALLY REALLY simple band bircage. I played with it A LOT and cut it down A LOT from the tutorial. It will go into my hair via bobby pins and then I'm pinning a big flower in my hair too. Basically to gather it you just weave thread in and out of the netting and the pull. It was getting it to lay right that was the issue.

Here's my inspiration pic, I don't have everything done yet so I don't have any pics, and FH doesn't know this is what I'm doing. Mine happens to be black.

The reason I made my own is because most come with feathers and I didn't want any feathers.

Mine is black with black dahlia and a pearl in center. You can take any fake flower apart and use a scrapbook brad through the holes to secure it back together.

I'm not really sure what you're talking about. You look great in that picture. But if you seriously want to get healthier (because I don't think you look bad at all) I would suggest seeing a nutritionist. I started seeing one after I got engaged because I was "trying" to lose weight and it never worked. I gained 30 pounds in the past 3 years and now I'm down 15 since July. I don't think you need to lose anything (remember gowns are always a bigger size than your street size) but if you want to try something, that worked for me. Good luck either way.
