I'm looking for a song that is meaningful to my FH and I and is slow enough to slow dance to.

We still need to decide but we're thinking either You and Me by Lifehouse or A Whole New World from Disney's Aladdin.

We used the Frankie Valli version of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You."

I like when couples choose something familiar and a bit fun - oldies are great for that. Like "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green, and have a fun dance to it vs. just swaying back and forth.

My peeve is when the couple picks some long, super-boring treacly pop-country ballad. It is SO BORING to watch. Add some zip to it, please.

We wanted a song that spoke to how we really feel about one another since "our song" is too fast for a first dance (it's "Never Knew I Needed" by Ne-Yo). We wound up picking John Legend's "All of Me" way back in the fall before it was ever released as a single. We're sticking with it!

We picked "Faithfully" by Journey. We picked it because it fits me and my FH's relationship/engagement, and Journey happens to be one of my FH's favorite bands.

We picked "That's Beautiful to Me" by Jaron and the Long Road to Love. I've always liked the song and when I showed it to FH, he liked it too and thought it was a good fit for us.

Oh, gosh...when grown-a** adults pick a song from "Twilight," it makes me wonder if they're mature enough to get married.

We picked the theme to "Twin Peaks"-- we loved watching that show together, and it is also a bit of an inside joke b/c it was on the original "Pure Moods" cd (if you don't remember those commercials, its really hoakey new age stuff or "relaxation"). But, its also relatively short (I think under 3 minutes), and we will be taking dance lessons so we're not just standing and swaying.

We picked "I Knew I Loved You" by Savage Garden. We didn't really have a song, so it took us a while to find one. But we liked stuff from the 90's, so this seemed like a good fit. Plus, it ended up being my MOH's & husband's first dance song also.

FH has chosen our first dance song and won't tell me what it is. Not even a hint! He says its a surprise for me. I trust him completely, but this makes me a little nervous.

Shannon, I am 40 years old and definitely mature enough to be getting married. FH and I are using a mix of 1000 Years and I Won't Give Up. FYI, I didn't know it was from Twilight when I picked it and to assume a song is chosen because it is in a movie is presumptuous at best, insulting at worst.

"Baby I'm Yours" by the Arctic Monkeys. It's 2.5 minutes, short, fun beat and fits our personalities. We played a few and practiced (hahaha) and this was the winner! Some are way too long and awkward...

Theresa, it's my opinion of a song, not an indictment of all you believe in and love. Eeesh. Please chill.

We are dancing to "Only you can love me this way" by Keith Urban. We had a hard time picking a song, but when I played this for FH he loved it right away.

Neither one of us wanted something from "today" that was popular and trendy, so we picked Stevie Wonder's "Knocks me off my feet". I'm not sure if 80's/70's music can be considered classic yet, but I think in time it will be lol. Plus, it's not too long!

We're dancing to Shameless by Garth Brooks. It's the only song J ever sings me from start to finish. Smiley laugh
