Financially are you nervous?

Jessica, on August 22, 2017 at 6:55 PM Posted in Planning 1 63

Just wanted to know if it's normal to feel nervous about seeing how much money needs to be paid?

Oh my gosh I'm so nervous! I know we can do it, and I make my FH reassure me everyday we are going to be fine! lol it's just so much money. After thinking of everything we could buy with that it's like, "WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?!"

All of my deposits are due in the next 2 weeks - I just added it all up and had my heart flutter. That is a lot of money!

Nervous because it's crazy spending so much money, or nervous because you aren't sure you can afford it? If it's the former, then yes. I'm sure my stomach will plummet when final payments get made. Never easy throwing down big money.

Always. It's crazy spending! And I'm very tight with my money as is. I'm anxious just thinking about it.

I got married 4 months ago and had everything paid off about a month before that and I'm STILL nervous about how much we spent. We still have a ton of savings leftover, and we had the perfect wedding that was exactly what we could afford, but man, spending money is HARD.

Totally normal to be nervous. Just make sure you are staying within your means!

I think the worst part is looking at that nice stash in the savings account knowing it will soon be depleted. hurts, man.

A few months ago, I compared what it would be to redo our wedding at a park instead of a hotel...after losing $ on deposits...we'd only save $700, so onward with the hotel we go!

Yes, because it's a lot of money. No, because we saved and it's in our budget. Be realistic about how much you can save and go from there.

Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit- and we haven't even paid anything yet. Drawing up the budget has been nerve wracking enough.

Had so many ups and downs over this. I searched high and low for venues in my city and every time I thought I found a cheaper one I always found a "hidden" cost somewhere else and it evened out to be the same as all the others. Smiley sad You'll find something. Either that or you'll give up and end up paying Smiley sad

We have planned the perfect wedding for us, but every time I look at our spending schedule I get a little anxiety. I think the reason I get anxiety is because after all is said and done, that would be a really good down payment on a house. We can definitely afford what we planned but it still sucks spending so much money.

Yes! With only a 6 month enagagement, it felt like a ton of money to come up with. We have paid for everything other then rhe venue as we booked it. It's hard spending so much from savings on one day!

From someone who is a penny pincher I get it. We made a budget that got shot to hell. Scale back if you have to

I'm scared every time I look at my budget. Even when I'm checking that I paid things off.

Thank you everyone for letting me know I'm not alone. FH and I own a home together, two cars, and we both make good money. We're planning on staying on budget, but I guess the beginning stages of planning can be overwhelming.... especially when seeing the price of venue first.

Yes, a tad bit. I know we have everything covered but there is still a bit of me that is nervous. Like I keep thinking i'm forgetting something.

I am nervous and constantly thinking of what I could buy with the amount of money we are spending. But then again, you cannot buy the memories of your wedding day. And that is something no amount of money can buy. You can always work more to save money again. You get one wedding day. I'm going to spend the money to do it right!

I get nervous but we just got the last check we needed and now we have everything we need in the bank but 2,000 and my mom said she's giving us at least that amount. So we are good.
