What kind of music does he like? I really like "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts!

My FH couldn't pick one either. Then I showed him "Then They Do" by Trace Adkins. He loved it, and now it's his song. =)

Are you having a live band or a DJ? Either of your music professionals should be able to give you a list of songs to choose from, based on their knowledge of your personalities!

Here's a couple of songs that we have used in the past that are NOT the standard, sappy types of songs.

In My Life by the Beatles

You're My Best Friend by Queen

Stand By Me by Ben E. King

Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler.

Remember, your live band or DJ can start and stop the song in any place, you don't have to have the entire song played from beginning to end.

Also, if you are having a live band, then you can take ANY song you want and have them play it in a way that makes it right for this dance. I have taken a heavy metal song that had perfect words, and played and sang the song softly with just really pretty acoustic guitar and flute behind me. Everyone was amazed at how beautiful the song actually was, and it was perfect for this couple to have their slow dance.

Why not have his mom pick one? We had our parent pick theirs. MIL picked "My Wish" and it meant more to them since it was like a dedication to DH and I

Great advice the time of our lives band but no we are having a Dj (my sister) she owns a bar and has experience with karaoke but has never done a wedding. So I am a little nerves about it. She said she will do fine.

Now I am Mrs. Clark good idea. I think I will call her in the morning and see if she can pick one. My FH said to pick a few that he "kinda" likes and have her choose one of those or come up with a better one.

FH and his mom went to see Celine Dion in concert years ago...so i think they're leaning towards the song "Because You Loved Me"

Michella, I'm sure your sister is a great gal, but you may want to have several "rehearsals" with her.

Handling the music at a wedding is a much different job than one would think. Making sure she is on the same page with you (YOUR page!) is very important. Also, just remember that by putting her in charge of the music, she does not get to participate in your wedding reception - her attention will need to be constantly on what's going on now and what needs to happen next. And you'll need more music than you think you will. Count on that!

Good luck to you and best wishes!

Your problem might be solved if you go to www.weddingmusiccentral.com. They have 3 new mother son songs that you probably haven't heard at everyone else's wedding and they are written by award winning hit writers. From a mom to her son there is "The Man You've Become" and the brand new "It Happens in a Heartbeat". If he would like a song from him to his mom as a tribute to her and expressing his gratitude to her there is "In Your Eyes" which a lot of guys really like. Their moms are really touched by that song.
