Extra. Waste of money unless they're edible! Went to a wedding with "pie in a jar" favors which were adorable, and all of the leftovers were taken home by guests who would appreciate them!

Extra/essential. Some favors, people get rid of or dont take with them. Some are desserts/treats that they eat and then are gone forever! I want a mix of different favor-options, so people can choose. Will probably do coozies and mini plants.

I feel like its essential, because I feel like its expected. It also depends on the favor. Something edible, people will most likely eat it. If its like a knick knack it ends up in peoples drawers or put somewhere and forgotten about. We're doing popcorn favors!

Wedding favors were part of our wedding and to us, they were essential.

Extra & being skipped! I haven’t kept a single favor from a prior wedding & based on hearing from others also, that it’s a waste.

The only reason we'd do a favor would be if it's edible. So a simple cookie or something like that that they could enjoy during cocktail hour! Other than that, in our book, they're an extra.

Beyond extra. When I did wedding photography the brides were always begging us to take home the unwanted favors. Favors are for kids birthday parties. Not weddings.

Stuck between the "The money for these favors was donated to an animal shelter" and "but dang I really kind of want to make candles for everyone" Also considering caramel apples "Apple-y Married" and we would probably DIY those too.

Hate to say it. But the WW family.is right on this one. I thought my favors would be different and useful to wedding. While the fans were useful, the chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate truffles, and mints were not essential. Could have spent it on a slot machine in Vegas and obtained similar effect.

I didn’t care much, but H really wanted them. We went for non-edible, useful but totally us— nice wine/bottle openers, engraved with the date, location and our initials but nothing over the top wedding. I know a lot of people on here say no one wants that stuff and it will get left behind, but this is DEFINITELY a know your crowd (and yourselves)— ours WENT. We ordered 100 for our 123 person wedding thinking one per household and a few extra (we’ll use them!), but we only ended up with a few leftover (I ran to pocket one to make sure we got one!), plus a couple people who didn’t see them there but heard about them after and called to see if they could still get theirs. My uncle’s was confiscated by the TSA when he was flying home and I guess he called my dad all upset asking if he could get a replacement 🤣. I’m so glad we did them now!

I think they are essential...as long as they are edible or not something cheesy. Not a fan of things with the couples names/dates on them. Who really wants that? Mine are personalized to each guest, so hopefully they go over well. Oh and donuts for late night snacks with boxes that they can take them home in if they want to eat them in the AM.

Def extra - like I think it's the most extra thing that is part of weddings. People leave them behind and to me it's the ultimate waste of money. "Those were the best wedding favors" said no one ever.

We're still trying to decide. I want to have smores as favors since we're getting married in the woods but I want to do something else too. We were thinking maybe making coasters out of the rocks we find on hikes so it will be unique and something from the area.

I am so back and forth with favors. I think it can such a waste but I love the idea of something edible. We are currently considering smores kits or apple cider donuts for our favor as a treat to take home.

I think its extra, and honestly unless it's really useful and not personalized to your wedding people won't use them

Essential... but can easily become extra depending on what the actual gift is.
