Engagement Pictures: Overrated or Underrated?

I really cannot decide. On one hand overrated because LOTS of couples do it. On the other underrated, because I wish more couples actually did them! They are gorgeous, but I do not know if I want to have any taken, yet.

I think engagement pictures are underrated especially when it’s your first marriage.

Underrated! Such a special and important thing to do, even if its just a few photos. You can use them for christmas cards, save the dates, thank yous, social media. I still love looking at mine and it was six months ago. And how often can you get dressed up and have some take pictures of how in love you are?

I feel like these are underrated. They're fun to do and it helps that you have something to look back on through the journey of your wedding. It's nice to keep as well.

I think its overrated and unnecessary but if you have the money and more importantly the time, go for it. We didn't do any but that was totally by choice, just didn't see the need. Of course were in our 30s and priorities change through life and this was just not one that made our list.

Underrated I wish I had gotten to do mine. I love looking at all my friends engagement photos the personalities are so different and it's so happy.

Overrated when you've been together for so long and have so many pictures (whether it be professional or a selfie) together already. You will also take pictures during your wedding so.... i'm not a huge fan of engagement photos.

Underrated. They’re a great memory and it’s a fun experience. Plus, you get pictures that you can send out to your friends and family as an official engagement announcement!

IMO underrated. Its nothing like a chance to take pictures together!

Neither! I love engagement photos, but I certainly do not think they're underrated! The more pictures I have with the man I love, the better!

I thought they were overrated! But friend of my fiance does photography and included the shoot as part of the wedding package. It was a beautiful experience! With all the wedding prep, it really put into perspective of why you are going through with all this in the first place! We are turly excited for our wedding in May. Dont get me wrong we are on a tight wedding budget. We got VERY lucky with our photographer. But if you can do it, you wont regret it. I cant wait to get them back and finally post them on our wedding website!

I'm looking forward to them because FH and I move around and we've never lived close to family or friends. I can't wait to have nice looking non-selfie shots of us!

Underrated. I just took mine on the 16th and it was an awesome experience/memory to have. I’m excited to eventually be able too look back at photos of us from this part of our lives and remember the excitement we felt, especially since our wedding is 2 yrs out. (I know lots of people do it closer to their wedding than their engagement, but I really wanted our pictures to reflect us as a newly engaged couple) it’s also a great way to feel out a photographer! I was super nervous but I ended up loving our time with her and how she conducted u shoot, I know I really want her to photograph our wedding now! I also cannot wait to hang up some new professional photos of us around our home lol
