While dress shopping this weekend with my 7 family/soon to be family members, I tried on a few dresses to humor them! I wanted a fitted, more plain, minimal lace/beading dress and this is the gown they handed me (attached). I came out and all the older women started tearing up. All I could think was “why did I do this?” Lol I did not purchase this gown. Perfect for someone but that someone is not me. I have a ton of my contenders saved on my phone but I’d love to see yalls! What’s the story behind it and why did you reject?
My dress shopping experience was something else, I'll tell you. I went in June this year for a November wedding. I really wanted a shorter dress something laid back. I really liked most of the dresses I tried on. But my wedding plans kind of got hijacked by an emergency over the summer so my budget went from small to non-existent and the date got pushed from November to October for religious reasons. Been lots of dress drama because until a few days ago (my wedding is next week mind you!) I was about to just walk down the aisle in something I already own but makes me feel fabulous.
First dress- I loved this dress but it was above my price range. I'm not sure why it was pulled when I had a strict budget set but oh well.
Second dress- I loved this one as well but being strapless it wasn't appropriate for our church wedding.
Third dress- This one felt too much like the one I wore when I married my first husband so was a "no thank you" from me.

Haha thanks. I did LOVE the strapless but there are so many strapless dresses chosen and it was a little too princessy and would need more alterations, i think it cost more too. This is the one I bought it has a little of every style going on and isnt your traditional style plus is comfy, basically no alterations needed and I know fiance would love it! (And I bought it with a special where I get a veil so I went with the $300 cathedral veil!)
The woman said she had a dress that was « the yoga pants of wedding dresses » so of course I was going to try that one on... Why yes, that is my belly button.
While it was quite comfortable, it offered no support, was not flattering for us in the little bitty uptop club, and had the world’s most unflattering gap in the lace RIGHT at navel level. As you can see in the background, even she was trying to hide from this one...
I dont have many photos of the rejects ... my entourage was too shocked by my faces or laughing too hard to even attempt a picture. But this one was fun. I made believe it was THE ONE and got my Maid of Honor & Bridesmaid panicked about how to make the train beautiful

Oddly, I like this😂 I think it looks really great on you. The see through parts in the dress itself are odd though. It looks like there’s a face on your stomach. Lol
I always laugh at this dress for the sale that I couldn't WALK! First dress appointment I made, it was just my sister and my mom there and we were trying to get an idea of what was out there and to try on every dress style to make sure A-Line was the style for me. The Ball gown was WAY to big and this one, I simply couldn’t move- I walked like a penguin. I told them that I’d have to stand in one spot and everyone would have to come to me
I actually liked most of the ones I tried on. The first pic was almost my dress until i put mine on. The second one was too heavy for my August wedding. The third one i didn't like at all. The fourth one i really liked but for my outdoor ceremony and reception i figured I'd end up looking like a bug net by the end. And number 5 is very similar to the dress i bought but was a few hundred dollars more than i wanted to spend.
My mom wanted to see me in a ballgown, just to say I tried one on, so I did it to humor her. This dress ate me up! It was a size or two too big but I just disappeared when I put it on. I also have to mention that there was so much tulle and material to it, that the dress stood up on its own after I took it off
It was a halter-top dress which made my curves look nice but it was uncomfortable around my neck and I felt suffocated. I also didn't really like the lace.
