While dress shopping this weekend with my 7 family/soon to be family members, I tried on a few dresses to humor them! I wanted a fitted, more plain, minimal lace/beading dress and this is the gown they handed me (attached). I came out and all the older women started tearing up. All I could think was “why did I do this?” Lol I did not purchase this gown. Perfect for someone but that someone is not me. I have a ton of my contenders saved on my phone but I’d love to see yalls! What’s the story behind it and why did you reject?
Really love that long sleeve one! They all look beautiful though. I did not have the "can't decide" feeling at all. They were all meh until I put mine onXD
This was my biggest fail. Attaching the stock photo as well so you can see what I was going for. It looks so elegant and expensive on the model, cheap on me lol it's a designer Jenny Yoo from Nordstroms too! #epicfail
I literally had this dress screenshot in my phone to show consultants. I was dead set on simple crepe gowns... until I tried them on. They just didn't do it for me. I'm a relatively small person and I still felt like a whale in them because the fabric is so thin and you could literally see my bellybutton through the material. I ended up with a crepe dress but it has some lace/beading on the stomach area to hide my bellybutton and any food/beer baby that pops up the day of my wedding.
These are just a couple of my rejects! I actually bought one really similar to the first one though! I was very conflicted on what I wanted, but when I found it, I knew!
I didn't save the photos that I tried on only for others but most of them had very similar characteristics:
1. Tons of beading or bling2. That really thick white tent material that wrinkles every time you move and weighs about 1,000 pounds (ps, I'm getting married in Florida in September)3. Patterns that screamed anything but my easy going style
The dresses I saved and attached were contenders but were either out of my price range or I just wasn't in love with.
After trying on 5 different style dresses, I thought one of those two was the lucky winner, after almost swiping my debit card, I ask for the last time to take another look at the dress and realize none of the dresses was THE dress. I did end up finding my dream dress that day tho and it was way better than those 2 I rejected.
