While dress shopping this weekend with my 7 family/soon to be family members, I tried on a few dresses to humor them! I wanted a fitted, more plain, minimal lace/beading dress and this is the gown they handed me (attached). I came out and all the older women started tearing up. All I could think was “why did I do this?” Lol I did not purchase this gown. Perfect for someone but that someone is not me. I have a ton of my contenders saved on my phone but I’d love to see yalls! What’s the story behind it and why did you reject?
The first time I went shopping I brought quite a few people and can be overwhelming! And I totally picked the wrong dress! Thankfully a couple weeks later I went back and chose the dress I was dreaming of. Here are the others I tried on.
I have LOTS of reject pics lol. I added the pics(1-6) in order from best to worst. The first one I LOVE LOVE LOVED the back of but the front was too poofy for me. The 2nd was very flattering but felt like it wasn’t my style. The 3rd one I thought was too plain but when I saw how it photographed I had 2nd thoughts. The 4th one I LOVED in person but not in photos.
Anyways, the dress I ended up buying is a cross between #4 & 5. And I just decided to add a pic of it at the end of the pics. It’s #7
I actually like #3 alot, even with how plain it is. I think the cut is elegant enough that you don't need a ton going on. The dress you chose is gorgeous though

I loved how it photographed, but my boobs were all I saw when I looked in the mirror lol. As my sister said “it was distracting” Thank you, I’m thrilled with the one I chose.

It was so beautiful! But it was about 8 inches from closing in the back 😭 I just spent 20 minutes trying to find more information for you, but I failed. I tried it on at GOWNS Bridal Boutique in Springfield, IL. I zoomed in all the pictures I had and the only thing I could make out was size and style number (I think) 8885. Here is a zoomed in picture of the only part of the tag I have. The owner of GOWNS is super sweet and helpful, so I'm sure of you called she would try to help!! It is an off the rack store so I don't know of she still has it. This was 9/13.
Here's 2 dresses I tried on and liked, but didn't love. Everyone like the lace dress on me and thought I should get it, but it wasn't what I had in mind and didn't feel like me. I loved the satin ballgown (even though it didn't fit me) but it felt too common and plain on the bottom. I wanted something with some sort of sleeves too, which obviously neither of these had.
