Do you think David's bridal will accept my dress back or give me an exchange

Cjjj, on July 3, 2018 at 9:51 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 33
So in January I bought a simple little wedding dress at David's bridal I no longer like the style, fit or anything I also am having my wedding date postponed (was June 2018) now I'm thinking some time next year .. question is do you think they will let me return it or exchange it for something I do love... I did have it altered because I WAS going to use it just because I already had it .. I had straps and a bustle added. 😭😭😭😭

Hate to break it to you but I doubt they’d take it back :/ your best bet would probably be to sell it somewhere else!

If you got it altered they will not accept the return.

I don’t understand how you could buy a dress and love it when you buy it, but hate it later. Why would you buy a dress you don’t like? How can you like something at one time and hate it later? No, I don’t think DB would accept a return at this time.

NO. You already had it altered.

It's pretty easy to find their return policies on their site:

No, especially after it’s been altered. It’s not their fault you no longer like it, but hopefully you can sell it on a pre-owned site.

They usually will honor exchanges but not if it's altered

Besides the alterations, six months is a long time. The dress could go on clearance within 6 months and not be worth it to them to take it back and give you full price for.

Davids bridal is terrible with their customers...I'm sorry to tell you they probably won't be much help.

I purchased 2 dresses from DB for my daughter's weddings. I had second thoughts about one of the dresses and they let me exchange it. You see on WW often where DB has let brides exchange their gowns. I'm not sure if it's store by store but it never hurts to ask. Dress regret is real!

I’m on my second dress from DB they allowed me to do an exchange only because I didn’t have alterations. if it’s been altered then they consider the dress to be custom made and unfortunately won’t allow you to exchange or return. Thank Goodness for sites like eBay or craigslist where you can sell it for a good price. Good luck with all your future plans!

I just recently purchased a dress from DB. It was the 3rd dress I tried on and just went with it. My mom really liked it so I settled. I didn't get to look around for other styles. Anyways the next day I called to see if I could possibly exchange it for another dress same amount if not more and was told all sales are final. I haven't even picked up my dress because they have to order it. And I was told it will come in September. I'm getting married in November. Oh and the dress I bought is 3 sizes bigger. They did not have my size. So yeah kinda sucks to spend so much money on a dress and then NOT be able to exchange it.. I get what you're saying. It happens. Sorry but I think we are stuck with our dresses.

I knew the alterations wouldn't allow me to exchange but just checking I guess I'll just keep my "for sale" posts up ..

    Thank you all

Try selling it on a bridal/ wedding dress site. They are strict on return items. Good luck

I did buy my dress and i love it! But then with the days and the planning going on I changed my mind. It was too formal, too big, too pink, was to much for the wedding I was planing.
