Do you really not eat at your wedding?

I've always heard and seen it a few times on WW that the bride & groom rarely eat at their wedding. That really depresses me. I want to eat! I feel like I can find 15 minutes for everyone to leave us the hell alone. Why/what were the reasons if you didn't get a chance at your wedding?

I definitely ate. I wish I had eaten more!!! We missed a bit of cocktail hour cause of pictures, and then my girls were having trouble with my bustle so I was kind of stuck in one spot... lol I did eat some nice butler-ed hors d'oeuvres that were brought over to me though. I ate about half of my prime rib, I was just too lazy to cut through the entire thing and wanted to get back out with everyone. I ate a little bit of my side dishes. Cake I forgot to go up and eat after it was served, but that was my own fault. Smiley smile

I too will definitely be eating. I get really bitchy when I don't eat and plus I plan on drinking and don't want that to get out of hand lol. I think I'll do what other people have done and just have them serve us first. That way we can get started and walk around to the tables when we're finished. I'm honestly not sure if we'll even walk around to each table. I'm hoping to get to the cocktail hour and plan on schmoozing there and like OTW, we're going to do a thank you speech at the end of the other speeches.

I too said I would def eat at my wedding...but on the day of, I was too excited and wanted to dance. I ate our first course but only a couple of bites of the main dish. Luckily they packed it up for us to take home so I just ate it the next day. I could have eaten...I was just too excited and wanted to dance all night.

I ate. The venue coordinator brought me a full plate of apps and a glass of wine while I was getting my dress bustled. It took forever. We sat down and ate dinner too - it only took like 15 minutes. I think we ate while the toasts were being made.

I didn't eat but before my wedding started, I told them to wrap my food to go. I already knew I would barely sit down.

I ate. I made damn sure of that.

We didn't eat many of the apps because we were busy taking pictures during cocktail hour, but I made sure that as soon as dinner was served we sat down to eat ,because I knew the food would be delish.

I ate. The caterer gave us our own server who went to the stations and bar for us to get plates and drinks.

I'm eating at the reception and then after we're drunk we are taking advantage of the fact that our venue makes a package of food and everything from the buffet for the bride and groom to take with them.

Our ceremony is planned for 5 PM so I plan to make sure I eat through out the day (I will ask my matron of honor - my sister - to make sure I eat). Plus paying almost $60 for a plate of food, I will make sure I eat at least the prime rib (if not the sides!). I plan on drinking alcohol and without food the alcohol would hit me too quickly.

We missed cocktail hour, but our event coordinator made sure to put a bunch of the apps on the head table for us and the wedding party to enjoy. Also we had a seated dinner and our table was the first one to get served so we definitely we are able to eat and enjoy our food. We didn't really go around and talk to people until after dinner so that everyone could enjoy their meal without interruptions.

DH was only mad that he missed out on our midnight lunch, which was smokies. Everytime he got one made up with all the toppings and start to eat it, he would get pulled away for dancing or to say goodbye to someone. I didn't eat the midnight lunch, wasn't really hungry. But we definitely both enjoyed our ice cream wedding cake since it was a major request of DH's.
