Do you ever take your ring off?

Rachel, on September 27, 2010 at 10:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 47

Just wondering if you ever take the ring off and when? If not, how long does it take to get used to it? I am not used to wearing jewelery to bed and it sort of feels weird. Just curious.

I take mine off when washing hands, dishes, showering, doing anything really dirty that might damage the ring, working out, when I'm at nail tech school, and sometimes if I'm in the bad part of town. I had to get used to sleeping with mine on too. But now it feels weird if I don't have it on, lol!

Before getting married, I took off my e-ring at night and put it back on before leaving home in the morning. Since my wedding, I never want to take them off. I have taken them off when there are a lot of dishes to do or when lotioning, but I really don't want to.

I take it off only to shower or when I'm cooking something very messy. It was kind of weird at first but it's like second nature now. Been engaged almost 10 months =)

it's the only jewelry I wear.

I had my E-ring sized too small-my fingers swell up a bit at night and when I workout :/

I take my E-ring off at those times, but have been wearing my wedding band-even though we're not married yet.FH is going to buy me a slightly (well, more than slightly) bigger E-ring to add when we get married Smiley smile

I'm not married yet but at first before the engagement ring I use to take my ring off but as months passed on I can't see myself taking it off for bed. I only take my ring off if I'm cooking or cleaning. BTW I like you pic are you getting married on a yacht? I'm planning my big day's reception on a yacht thats why I ask.

I only take it off in the shower, it gets all soapy and turns around and its annoying. It took me a few weeks to get used to sleeping in it, but you eventually will and won't even notice it.

Been engaged for almost 9 months, and have literally only removed it twice. First time for 6 month check up at jewelers, and second time was last week for a professional cleaning. That's it !. And when I got it checked over, and cleaned I did not leave the store. I stood and waited for it.

Yeah I take mine off.... I take it off when I go to bed... I was told its really bad to wear them to bed cause dust will collect in them, I take it off when showering, washing my hands, swimming, and also when I work (work at taco bell)..... so yeah I take it off cause I don't want it to get damaged, chipped, or stuff get stuck in between the diamond and the metal....

When I first got my ring I used to take it off before taking a shower but I forgot to put it back on once and FH yelled at me, not in a bad way he was just worried I would loose it - so I just keep it on now and only take it off when I clean it.

I never take mine off. Because it is just a plain gold band, stuff doesn't get stuck in it.

I have been taking it off more and more often. When I read Getting Excited to be a Mrs.'s post about one of her pave diamonds falling out, I got nervous. I still wash my hands in it, but I take it off for other things involving water like showering or cleaning. I don't wear it at night because I still find it pretty uncomfortable (although it does feel weird when I'm not wearing it!).

LOL never mind your private. Did you book yours yet & what kind of feed-back did you get from yacht weddings. BTW what charter are you using?

My e-ring is off more than it is on. I don't wear it to the gym or work. I don't even wear it when I am at home. I do wear it every other place though. He doesn't mind.

I take mine off when I shower (it tangles in my hair) and when I do dishes (it rips the gloves). Otherwise I usually wear it. Sometimes in the morning I'll have swollen fingers so I'll take it off. I've only been engaged for 2 1/2 months and I already lost a diamond- but it was when they polished it. My ring is this one: http://www.shaneco.com/Catalog/ProductDetail.aspx?X=41045747&C0=1&C1=3

and I lost one of the little round ones in the mounting. Luckily, Shane is great with little side diamonds and will replace them for free!

I take mine off to clean it or if I am doing something I am worried about it getting really dirty or banged up but usually not for much...I lost a side diamond in mine to Jennifer, not long after I got it and we never found it, dont know when or why it happened and I was without it for almost a month while the fixed it and replaced the diamond for us.

I pretty much only wear mine when I am going out (regardless if its just running down to the store or going to dinner). I take it off as soon as I get home. Very rarely do I wear it in the house.
