Do Invitations and RSVP's need to match?

I say as long as they coordinate, you're fine. They don't need to be an exact match, but I'd use the same color scheme and general theme on them.

Mine had the same theme, but didn't match.

One of them is peonies and the other is bunting with two birds sitting on it. They coordinate in color and general feeling.

I did the same thing, lol One is FH idea and one is mine, both are of same color and "our wedding feel" but both are totally different. I like the contrast it has and we weren't stuck with one design choice for everything.

Do you have pics, can you show up what you're looking at? I agree they should coordinate, but don't have to be matchy-matchy.

I like both pieces, but honestly, I find the styles to be pretty mismatched. The invitation has a much fancier look, so in comparison it makes the RSVP look even more casual than it already does. They just don't seem like they're for the same event to me. The graphic on the invitation is so intricate, I feel like it begs for a card that actually matches exactly, or one with less of a design than the banner bunting. If I received these in the mail, my reaction would be that it's an odd pairing, but I wouldn't give it a thought beyond that -- all that matters is that you and FH both be happy with what's being sent out!

I think it works, but it would be even better if the font on both were the same. The color palettes go without matching, but the overall vibe of the two is different enough than it needs more elements tying them together to seem like they're not just chosen independently.

My stationary items have all been pretty matchy matchy. It is the only area of the wedding that I have been able to have things match. Every shade of green at every store is just a little bit different from the last.

Those look amazing! Where did you get them from? I think they don't need to match too much, but at least in the same theme. Different patterns, maybe some of the accent colors for one will be the main color for the other and so on. Good luck!
