Here are my wedding shoes that I DIY strassed myself using E6000 glue and 5 different sizes of swarovski crystals in AB.

I also bought a bow shoe clip from etsy and strassed it as well to go with the shoes.

I actually used real Christian Louboutins for these, but only because I fell in love with the real Fifi Strass from Christian Louboutin that sell for $3,000. I was NOT going to be able to afford it for that amount, so I decided to just DIY it for 1/3 of that price.

First pic is of the shoe, sans bow. Second is with the DIY bow I made (it's a shoe clip, so you can remove it or wear it in a different location). Third pic is the work in progress (for those of you who are confused as to what I meant by "DIY"~Yes, I added the crystals myself. It took a total of 40 hours for the pair, and 15 for the bows)

LOL, yall are too funny....the shoes are cute, but honestly they look a little "too perfect" to be a DIY job, but I could be wrong.

But reading all the posts gave me a good laugh.

    Esther,

I actually looked at some of your Picasa photos. The cake stand is really pretty. I do not know if your original intent was to promote yourself or simply to share but if it was indeed to share things, you are a talented person. I apologize for being so quick to assume your intention of this post. Just please keep in mind that putting things on display, and then offering to sell as a vendor does violate the community rules. So just be careful. We had a lady on here who was mingling her profession with her wedding planning and it got her in a lot of trouble.

I agree with you Rachel.. The original post said nothing about her selling anything it was just a DIY project til she had to defend herself. If no one had called BS we would not have been given her website.. and another bride posted the etsy add not the OP... I agree the rules say you can't sell on here but we all post DIY projects sorry but I didn't see anything wrong with the original post ..

This is an advertisement the whole way and is against the TOS.

As far as teachers owning nice things, sure more power to them, but don't complain about your salary then (something that is common with almost every single teacher I know, and I say almost only because I can't think of one who doesn't but I could be missing one).

Glenn-who was complaining about salary? That has nothing to do with Meghans comment.

@Glenn, I have a total of 5 teachers in my immediate family (aunts and 1st cousins) and my family never complains about their salary they are all very happy being teachers. I personally don't think they make enough, teaching the future leaders of tomorrow is much more important than hitting a ball with a stick but ball players make much more... and if you think the OP was an advertisment I certainly hope you never need to make sales your career because it wouldn't have sold crap...

Nope, I don't do sales because I can't be sunny and rosy and optimistic and I can't lie to people to get them to buy my services. Instead I lead projects and actually get shit done. Sales people are a barely necessary evil

Why did this post turn into a discussion of people's salaries and degrading other people's line of work?

Victoria you are right in all sense : )...some people here on wedding wire just don't get it they always have something negative to say and they look for it...you see they only post on comments where they can be "HONEST" (thats what they call it anyway)....they wont get it no matter how or what you say they are always right..oh well... Smiley smile

Why in the name of Zeus' butthole would you do that to perfectly good CLs? :-|

Miya LOL @ Zeus' butthole... I'm assuming she did it because she knew she could make them into what she wanted. Just like some women don't mind trashing thier actual wedding gown that cost hundreds / thousand .. many women will buy a cheaper dress for the same effect but those that don't care about saving the dress have trashed the actually dress. Personal perference

I guess. For me it's just like putting racing or Hello Kitty stickers on an AMG car. It's just ridiculous. That's my personal preference though. Smiley tongue

Damn! People on here can't have anything nice lol. If she's a teacher who can afford CL's, more friggin power to her! If you can't afford them, then you can't afford them. Don't attack the lady because she can. You don't know what other jobs she has or what her FH does, so stay out of her salary. When Elizabeth G asked what's everyone's combined income, most of the forum had a hissy fit and said that it was a personal question. So why don't we stay out of Esther's wallet and bank accounts, and not worry about if she can afford them or not. And if she's trying to sell stuff on here, let WW handle it.

I'm really getting tired of all the damn bickering on here. If you don't agree with someone's lifestyle or if you can't afford the same things, then oh well! Deal with what you have, and let other people deal with theirs.
